G'day Ray
These things have a mind of their own sometimes but I feel I am the problem most of the time.
I am at Branxton in the Hunter Valley, about midway between Maitland & Singleton and where the new M1 (old F3) Branxton freeway joins the New England.
Son and family are at Normanhurst, not far from your area.

Cheers ray

You sir, are a genius!!
That works perfectly so I can now give the Load switch a break and it's great to know I have another way of accessing my styles on SDs.
Sincere thanks Mike

Cheers

Sorry Mike, I did not fully explain. The spring in the slot does not always engage with the card and the card keeps jumping back out , and even if I close the lid on the card the red light does not always come on. If the lid is closed and the red light glows everything works.
I will also try your other method that worked for Bob.

Bob,

You're very welcome.

Ray,

Have you tried more than one SD card so that you're certain that there isn't something broken on the case of the card?

Now if my dear grandfather were still with us he would whip out a soldering iron and some bits and pieces of junk to make something that would miraculously fix it. He was my hero and fixed many of my Technics keyboards (and cars).

Hi Mike i tried a bit of fencing wire and some multigrips ( old plumbers tool) but did not work !!!
Yes same problem with any card, but I can live with it if I have to, it's 14 years old "ces la vie".

G'day ray and Mike
As an ex-motor mechanic, like you, I would be tempted to straighten out an old wire coat hanger and poke around until I completely destroyed it!! I admit I did start to consider pulling the cabinet off my KN7000 to get at the cantankerous SD LOAD switch but almost immediately pictured a whole lot of springs and bits flying out and me not having a clue where they came from and the unit being binned as a result (which has happened in my past due to my curiosity and unfortunate confusion in relation to my ambitions compared to my abilities.)

Hi Ray
Sorry, I thought I replied to your post earlier but I am still stumbling around the site ignorantly I'm afraid.
I'm at Branxton where the new M1 (F3) extension recently opened. Now only 1½ hrs from your end of freeway and with son/family at Normanhurst, loving it.
