7 lbs(think I got that right) diff. between DBR 12 and DXR 12. Seems everyone is concerned about weight these days.
And wattage?...
Bose talks about covering a 100 folks with a Bose Compact. HK Nano 300 talks about covering 50 folks...but, from experience, the HK Nano covers much more than 50 folks.
So, it's about weight I think.
If you don't believe that(this is a keyboard forum)..folks talk about looking for the lightest keyboard..not the best sounding keyboard...can of worms here?

Weight is important to me, too, but in relation to performance. The ratio got worse here: from 700 watts / 14 kg to 325 watts / 10 kg. But maybe the 700 watts were a bit exaggerated for the DXR10 after all?
The DBR series powered speakers are replacing the MSR250 and MSR400 powered speakers. I own the DXR10 speakers and the new technology from NEXO made these shine... power/tone/weight. Yes, the DBR will be a step down but great technology in a small package.
DBR10... $399 DBR12... $499 DBR15... $599
The CBR speakers are passive speakers that can be powered by the P-Series or EMX amps.

I received my shipment of DBR10 and DBR12 speakers today. They really do shine! Loud, Clear as a bell and light weight. I really like that channel 1 has a combination 1/4"/XLR plug with a switch for line or mic so I can plug a mic in without the need of a mixer. At a MAP price of $399 and $499 and with Yamaha's 7 year warranty I'm really happy to have these powered speakers in my store. In my opinion, you can't beat Yamaha's quality when it comes to sound equipment these days.
