When I took Fortran in college, each line had to be typed on an individual punch card on a telo-type machine. You had to wait to get a machine.
You would place your 300 cards in cue to be sent to a central processor in mid-state. You would return several hours later to pick up your printout, and find you had a syntex error in the first card.
During mid terms I ran out of cards on the weekend, and searched frantically for someone that sold them. One response I got was "We don't carry punch cards or Buggy Whips anymore."
Still waiting for the day I can use Fortran in my life.
You're showing your age here. I did the same thing...back in 1973 or 1974...somewhere in there.

From my perspective, it has dumbed down another generation of young people to the point that they no longer know how to communicate with another person without the phone in their hand. Gary
