Hi Barry,
I have a few KN2000 floppy discs so I copied them to my PC and then attempted to download the files via USB to my KN7000, using the Song Manager program. No luck I'm afraid When setting the PC folder location in Song Manager to the folder which contained the KN2000 files, the program did not recognise the files and the left hand window was blank.
I then tried to load the files using the floppy disc drive on my KN7000 and everything worked fine. Although a little octave tweaking was required, the styles are perfectly usable. I then uploaded the files via USB from the KN7000, to another folder on my PC.
I opened Song Manager again and changed the target folder to the new folder which contained the KN2000 files, which had been uploaded from the KN7000. All the files were now visible and could be downloaded successfully via USB to the KN7000.
So, it would seem that the KN2000 file format is not suitable for direct transfer from PC to KN7000 or KN2600.

The only solution I can think of would be to use the conversion program EMC Style Works.

Thx For the reply.
I think the problem is I have loads of different discs.
Music Disk Collection series does not show in Song Manager.
Composer& Panel Memories Series does
But working my way thru them.
If anyone would like the ones I get working
just let me know you can have them.

Cheers thx for all the help
Barry

I tried several KN2000 discs, all with the same result - not showing in Song Manager. However, they are all commercial discs.....
I'll have a dig through my collection of floppies and see if I can find some which I saved, when I had a KN2000 - interesting...

Hi Bill.
Just a thought, could it be that the files
attributes are shown as "hidden", and that's
why the SongManager don't recognize any?

Hey Gunnar, You're absolutely correct Last night, I tried uploading to PC, some of my old KN2000 discs, which I recorded many moons ago and they worked OK. So I checked the content of my discs against the content of the commercial discs and found that the difference was that the 'Hidden' attribute was set on all the files on the commercial floppies. I cleared the 'H' attribute and they are now visible and transferrable in Song Manager.
I was about to post my finding here when I saw your comments Gunnar Great minds think alike ??????
Barry, it looks as if the problem you have, is caused by the files on the 'Music Disc Collection' floppies, being 'Hidden'.
To allow Song Manager to see the files, the Hidden Attribute on all the files needs to be cleared. If you don't know how to do this, just ask.

OK
Friends Thank you. Im sorting the disks out slowly.
I didnt want to say but it was my wifes
father who died and she wanted me to sort these disks out as he just lived his final years for his music.
And it would be his wish to pass them on to you all.
Strange,Its only since buying my Kn2600 that
I found this forum

Thx to all

Barry

Hi Barry.
It's a good thought to give away as you say here, but please
have in mind that this might be commercial disks, and if so,
they should not be spread around at the web.
Even if the KN2000 are a "pretty old" model now, there's still
copyrights and so on to be aware of.

Happy playing.
