Yikes - the day BEFORE is a nightmare, usually. It's worse than NYE for amateur drinking excess. Just be prepared for a lively crowd that has off the next day. I don't play that day anymore ... it's turned into an animal house around my neighborhood. I want no parts of it.

I guess you could do "I Thank You" by Sam and Dave, or ZZ Topp, whichever generation fits best. smile

LOL ... I should have specified, it's for an assisted living gig ...

I was thinking maybe "This Land is Your Land", "God Bless The USA", and some others like that ?!?
I'll listen to any suggestions ...

Chicken Dance. wink Tony, they hired you for the songs you normally perform - not some special holiday songs, of which, I really don't know any for Thanksgiving specifically.

Do what you do best, entertain them,

Thanks, guys ... It's just that the are calling it a "Turkey Trot" so I was wondering if there was anything special you play ...
This place gives me a fair amount of work, and in one unit, especially, they do 'themes' on Wednesdays ... I always get a 'heads up' from the AD and prepare a song list to coincide with the theme ... it's worked out very well thus far ...
Along with the two I mentioned above maybe I'll do "Turkey in the Straw"; the 'Captain Smith and Pocahontas verse of "Fever", and "Indian Love Call" ... LOL ...NOT!!!

Chas, there are no native Americans - From everything I've read, the Chinese were here before anyone else.

cheers,
