As mentioned on my other thread this is a brand new recording for which all the credits go to my musical buddy Carlo who took care of the complete arrangement and the video to boost.

Nice job John good quality recording, but Honestly I prefer the jazz swing version of this classic song. Here's a rough cut of rt66 I did using a Yamaha PSR 3000 & some multitrack SMF tricks many years ago maybe 15 or so... including some wild Sammy Davis scats at the end, mistakes & all lol..

John, AND Carlo ... very nice indeed ... I will use a variety of styles for this song depending on the venue and/or my mood at that particular moment ...

works fine here Tony....Try to right mouse clik and save to your desktop..thats was a very old recording.... I no longer use that track..... I have since did it over.......I'll try to record the new version soon.

Great rendering on the old Yamaha PSR3000 Donny, but it is almost like comparing apples to pears really, isn't it ?
Me I prefer the rock and roll version of the Stones etc.
But then again I guess this song has been recorded in so many different arrangements that it might even challenge "My Way ".
Anyway we did it OUR way this time and we are happy with the result...

Well, John, I finally got around to having a good listen to this tune. I'm sure Donny didn't upload his version as a comparison, but it was inevitable that I eventually compared the two, and quite frankly, I like your rendition/arrangement quite a bit better, although that's not to take away from Donny's, which is still rather good in the more "traditional" way.

The reasons I prefer your interpretation is because its dynamics seem to capture the spirit of driving a highway (free and easy) far better, so kudos to Carlo for the superb arrangement, and two thumbs up for your vocals which are indeed excellent.

For a "home player/singer" you certainly give away nothing to any professionals out there, and your voice just has such a nice "texture" to it, especially in context with the more "up" feeling rhythm.

I've heard this tune done in many different styles, and yours is a refreshing, and clever, take on it.

Very nice job, indeed.
