Here is the case I had nycase build to my specs. It is the one that I would recommend over anything out there. I originally was thinking about the TuffBox case but after I talked to the owner I changed my mind as it was going to be only about one pound less than what I did order. A lot of the guys now have this case and are quite happy with it as you will see on this link.

You will just have to give them the dimensions for the T5 if it's any different than the T4.

Don't know which Guardian case you have but the case for 61 keys does not fit the Tyros, otherwise I would have bought one. The case for the 76 keys will fit the 61 note Tyros but it is way too huge and can be a problem transporting in cars.

Hi Steve

Guardian doesn't make a case for 88 keys.

Not meaning to stir the pot..but now I'm curious.

Most folks on these forums talk about using the S950(or similar Korg etc) in place of a Tyros...not because the S950 is a better machine but because it's lighter.

Thing is, if a person is hauling around an S950 in a plywood case...where's the gain in it being lighter?

I looked at a few of the cases mentioned here and my S950 in one of these Guardian cases would weigh as much(perhaps a bit more) than my Tyros in the Kayces case...??? Also, my Kayces case for the Tyros 4 has wheels.

Again...I'm now curious.

I always laugh whenever I see someone say they buy the PSR because the Tyros weighs more. The Tyros 5 weighs 5.48 pounds more than the PSR-S950. I mean come on:)

The plywood case I use weighs 20 lbs exactly (with wheels). The Kaces soft case that I previously used weighs 20 lbs. The old Tyros soft case no longer in production weighed about the same. The Gator soft case for 76 (fits Tyros 5-61) weighs 26 pounds. The Guardian case weighs about 13 - 14 pounds. It's a nice case IF it fits your keyboard.

If I had a PSR I would probably get a Guardian 61 case or even one of those 4 pound bags I've seen. But I sure wouldn't put my expensive Tyros 4 in a bag. Not for an instrument that expensive.

I can't find the weight specs on my CK61, but I don't believe it weighs more than 10 pounds.

Gary

I never saw one but the owner of I believe it was Finecases dot com told me they were 13 or 14 pounds. I believe that company is now defunct.

Think I am more confused now. Since I am looking for t5 61 case. and see a lot of references to the 950 and T4 which wouldn't fit the 5. Looking to spend no more than $200. Anymore suggestions

Thanks all

After all is said and done my suggestion is to call Frankieve at Audioworks, Ct.
203-876-1133. or e-mail him frankieve at yahoo dot com. I've bought every arranger I ever owned from him not sure what I was thinking when I was looking for a T5 case but in hindsight should have called him. Brain cramps, DUH moments call it whatever . .........it's worth a call or e-mail to him.

I like the glove like fit of my keyboard from the nycase co also called roadcasesusa dot com along with other divisions as do a number of others that bought one.

I do not know of any manufactured case that will fit a Tyros decently except for the Tyros hard case by Yamaha, but it weighs as much as the keyboard and one guy had the finish worn off his keyboard using this case. Everything else that is manufactured is too long or too wide or too deep, etc

The case I had done I gave them the dimensions and it was custom built for me. You would need to do the same.

I spent a lot of time on this case thing, literally months and months of research. Nothing decent out there. Don't know why Yamaha doesn't make a light case that fits the Tyros.
