I disagree ... I don't think the Hammond sound EVER gets old ... and the fact that it still shows up in today's music - even C/W chas - proves that it doesn't get old ...

Very enjoyable Chas, it really produces a great live 3 piece combo atmosphere. And the B3 sounds hot !!!!

I like that a LOT, chas. My kinda groove. I just wish the drums had been a little more forward in the mix. They're worthy of it.

As a couple of the guys already mentioned, that sound never gets old - too bad about the rest of us on that.:) I've loved that sound since the days of Jimmy Smith with Quentin Warren, Kenny Burrell, et al doing the guitar honours. Oh, did I say I liked your take a lot?

really liked your arrangement Chas . Sounded authentic . But for me the drums were not the type I would have picked for this style . They were too rock sounding but it's just my view . It's always a pleasure to hear you post your stuff . Cheers

Thanks guys. Very kind of you. Spalding, you've got a point about the drums. I could just as easily have used maybe a straight 4/4 jazz ballad-type style (mostly brushes) but I thought 6/8 is more 'churchy' or 'down in the dirt'. As Don noted, 6/8 makes you want to slow-dance more . On the other hand, to 124's point, because of the heavy emphasis on the '1', it will dominate the piece if you bring it up front too much. So you're both right. 6/8 for grinding, uh I mean dancing, 4/4 for listening.

BTW, a drummer friend of mine who has both a Roland td10 and td20 E-drum kits, thinks it (BK7m) probably uses samples from those libraries. If that's true, that would be a really cheap way to get some premium drum sounds.

Nice one, Chas. Really like the 6/8 rhythm arrangement, and like Spalding, I think the drums could be a little less rocky, although they do add a nice bit of aggressiveness...so, it's definitely a subjective thing.

Organ sounds very good indeed, and the percussive tone will never get old...sounds like you have a touch of chorus/vibrato on it as well. The Jazz guitar is the ideal complimentary solo instrument.

Lazy and smooth and very well played.
