Didn't see this thread upon it's original creation, but it was an interesting read nonetheless seeing that's is now kinda relevant to me. A lot of good info here.

It was also nice to see the big praise & enthusiasm for this keyboard when it first arrived (I didn't realise it arrived nearly 5 years ago, I always thought it was 2017, or maybe it was available in the UK in 2017).

This is by far the largest and most interesting thread that I have just RE-read !!!
Probably just a coincidence with me purchasing the SD7 rotfl

And AJ you can put the kettle on as they say in the UK, I am sure Donny is heading your way shortly !!!!

Still, re-reading all this stuff it remains a bit of a mystery to me why folks like Don,Donny,Dave, etc. ultimately decided to shy away from Ketron. Sure I have read their motives in this long thread that even features my own comments, but if weight and size are that important there is always the SD40 or better still the SD90....
And of course the fact that Italy is incredibly slow in updating and fixing bugs is a valid argument. But they seem to be learning these days. I installed 1.3.4 as the latest update for the SD7 released in September 2019.
I still am of the opinion that having two boards of two different brands beats anything else. OF course there are folks who have even three of four which is only useful if you are not gigging, like me for instance. Those who have to go out on a weekly basis are better of with one superb keyboard or one superb module imho.
Once again I would like to AJ,Deane, Don and Donny for their correspondence and assistance with me getting familiar with the Ketron SD7.

regards
John
