Donny,
I am not sure about the contents of the folders. They come from just about every keyboard or Module Ketron offers. I have so far had little time to go through even 5 percent of them. There also seems to be tons of duplicates which are not actually named the same. When i get it all sorted out I'll let you know.

By the way, I now working on the fine tuning of the overall sound of the SD7. I am not a sound "techie" so it involves a lot of experimentation. I'm trying to get the SD7 setup to use with my Bose Compact Speaker. So, I'm playing around with the EQ system on the keyboard because I don't use a mixer. I'm about ready to debut it on it's first gig this week!

I thought it was cool you got an SD-7...you have always kept an open mind to different instrument/manufacturers....that's also pretty cool.

Playing new styles with new sounds on a new keyboard is like leaving one band you've been playing with, and joining up with another group...one just as competent, but the virtual musicians (the style parts) have slightly different tastes.

Of course, there's that hopefully short "getting to know you" period as you adjust to the new players' strengths and weaknesses.

Good luck on your maiden voyage.

Ian

Ian,
You hit the nail on the head! It is strange, but interesting, to play the same set list with different styles from a new keyboard. For example, I usually play Tea For Two as a Cha Cha on my Tyros 4 but will end up playing it with a swing style on the SD7. Both sound really nice but after years of doing it one way the change takes some getting use to.

Should be a fun experience and so far I have absolutely no buyer's remorse or complaints.

I also wish Ketron made it lighter and more compact.

really?

Tyros 5 = 36lbs
audya 5 = 38lbs
Pa3x = 38lbs

I dont see how anyone could have an issue with 33lbs.

Deane your going great!! Once you start gigging with it and tweaking styles & sounds changes in live play which are easily SAVED during live play. I'm using the "BRIGHT" KB Global EQ at this time with a slight rolloff on the HI EQ to 6. I can't wait to take the SD7 to work also that wont be long. I'm almost finished creating my "EASY 30" Registrations,....once in the trenches I'll tweak & add/remove as needed. keys

Tyrosman 5,
I am one who has back trouble. In fact, I will have surgery correcting Spinal Stenosis at L4 and L5 in July or August. I've dealt with this problem for nearly 30 years and had Cervical Spine Surgery two years ago. Now, having said all that I have tried just about all the smaller and lighter keyboards from Korg, Roland, and Yamaha. All of them sounded ok and certainly do the job on a gig but do not compare in sound to these companies "Flagship" models. Oh yes, I just turned 75 too.

What I have done is develop more efficient ways of getting my equipment in my car and on my Rock N Roller Cart and handled on the gig. So far the added 10 pounds or so has never been an issue for me but I do understand your concern.

Just my opinion - the sound is worth the effort and my clients sure appreciate it.

You have used you brain to save your back, good for you.
I had polio at 3 yrs. old and it left me years later with weakened back muscles. Have had spine people check me out and the results: Do NOT lift anything heavy or suffer serious consequences. I am 86 yrs. old. Best to you. Lloyd
