Let me add that the first few days all I have heard of the SD7 was thru you tube videos and when I got mine a few days ago I had only played it once thru headphones and the rest of the time with the Great loud on-board speakers at home. At this point I was happy....BUT, yesterday at the Ketron Work shop AJ brought TWO Giant 100lb each Mackie speakers not sure about model they looked like
SRM 750's...when I played the SD7 thru these at Full Volume all I can say is OMG!!!

Tomorrow I start tweaking & fine tuning thru MY
Hk Audio Nano 600 PA! keys

Sounds great Deane. You seem to get full range of sound using only the lower unit of your Bose. The SD7 sounds great in your capable hands.

God Bless,
Don

The high end speakers are there. He just didn't use the extensions.

Korg80,
I often use the Bose L1 Compact without the extensions. In small to medium size rooms, and with the speaker on a table or off the floor, it seems not to make much difference.

I'm learning more & more then I knew yesterday with the SD7 and it sounds so good. I have been tweaking each variation of different styles one at a time eg: Intos, Variations, Endings, one by one...BUT, Now Don Mason showed me that by using the "Global" Tab feature in the editing window allows me to make changes to sounds, perimeters, Vol, Efx, etc, and when this tab is activated it will change ALL your edits ON ALL PARTS so you don't have to adjust EACH part independently saving so much time. Great Feature!

I also found out how to change lyrics Background Color, Font, Text Size. A cool feature on the SD7 is that you can change text size just by using you fingers just like you do on your cell phone or tablet by spreading your two fingers in real Time or by tapping the screen twice also.. And the Lyrics is so readable on this Bright BIG Display. cool2

Deane, you should NEVER place the Bose L1 Compact on a table. This results in the loss of the sub-woofer sounds. Additionally, those extension sections are what provides the mid range and separation from the bass sounds and at least one should be used, but preferably both. Believe me, your audiences will know the difference when they hear the system set up like this.

We always use at least one extension on our Compacts as that seems to give a more full sound.

We have placed the Compact on a table when the were used just as a speaker for voice/talking.
