With the Crown CM-311A headset mic, the instructions clearly state that your lips should be touching the mic, which prevents pfff sounds. Additionally, this particular mic is so short ranged that it's nearly impossible to have a problem with background sounds. That said, you need a fair degree of vocal control in order to effectively use a headset mic. No pull-aways here - just vocal control.
