I think i saw AJ refer to it as an SSD card... Which technically is the same as a solid state drive... Often times however a bit slower.. Tough some of the pro sd cards these days have remarkable data transfers

For the life of me, I've never understood why some folks believe they need a mammoth storage device and lightning fast processor to handle tiny files that are just a few kilobytes in size- makes absolutely no sense to me at all, but what the Hell do I know. I guess it's a mine's bigger than yours mentality.

Well, if it is not just about settings, styles and midi files ( these are indeed just a few kilobytes) but really about samples, the gigabytes would make a lot of sense. I can't imagine you can use giant sample libraries with the SD 7 like you can with a Kronos. totally different target group.

They don't. Not the arranger players, not yet. When the huge multi-giga libraries will be used in an arranger, we'll have touched Nirvana.

Took the SD7 out for it's first gig yesterday and WOW! The sound through my Bose Compact was outstanding and there were dozens of compliments from the audience.
My wife did videos of the gig but honestly the sound on the video does not do justice to the SD7. Today I'll do a recording direct into a recorder and try to get something posted in a day or two.

Direct recording is the way to go,...I can understand why the audience loved it, the SD7 sounds so live.
I should be breaking my cherry this week also.

Is an owners' manual available to download? My real question is, does the SD7 have on-board style editing, and does it allow you to create a new style from scratch? -Ted

The on board style editing is the easiest I have seen and i have owned Korgs, Rolands, and Yamaha keyboards. There is a manual but it is not downloadable. It is web based. I am not sure about the style creation - this is my first Ketron keyboard.

I agree with Deane that editing all perimeters of style parts, sounds, etc, & sounds, efx, etc, is so easy to do (while playing live or not), & the setup is logical & more then capable to operate. You can edit the styles, sounds, anyway you want, plus there's Modeling, Morphing, Live SFX, Styles with "RIIFs" also. and much more..etc,..The SD7 is a joy to use & play..
