I'd like to thank A.J. for putting on a great and informative
presentation. The SD7 is an amazing sounding keyboard and has
abilities that don't show up in most videos on line.

The guitar player demonstrating the Midjay Pro was also very versatile in his presentation and adept at showing innovative
ways of performing with the unit.

All in all a very enlightening experience.

I have been performing on stage full time with the Solton MS50 since 1993 when I bought it new. I had no backup for most of those years. Considering I paid $2200 back then, that still makes the SD7 an excellent value today.

Hi Allen,

Gled you had a great time in Orlando!

I wonder if you can describe the hookup between the MidJay Pro and T5. What made it work? The way AJ describetd it the T5 was the controller! In the past I've never had much luck using T5 as a controller! It does not have a MIDI Thru

Is there anything unique abt the setup? or something you could share?

I currently have T5 and SD7 and have considered trading for MidJay Pro.

I would appreciate your input.

Many Thanks!

Hi Don,

A.J. never had the Midjay midied to the Tyros 5 due to
time constraints.

He had a guest guitar player playing through the Midjaypro.
He was triggering chord changes using a midi guitar and the
full keyboard chord recognition mode. No bass pedals. Have
never seen that before.

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.

Regards, Allen

Don,

The trick is in the Tyros 5 Midi set up.

On the TYROS 5,
* Go to Function
* Go to MIDI Transmit and set LEFT = 2 but ... you must (on the panel) turn on the LEFT voice but lower it's volume to 0 so you do not hear it but it still triggers the SD7/Midjay Pro!
* Set Right1= 1

If you want to get fancy (as we did in the Detroit workshop), turn on the TYROS 5 Midi clock (ext=on) and on the SD7/Midjay Pro, turn off Internal Mid Clock.

Make sure you go through the other TYROS 5 Midi Transmit channels and turn off anything transmitting on Channel 2!

This gives you tempo control from the TYROS 5 and now, you can also trigger the Multi Pads of the Tyros 5 and they will be in sync with the SD7/Midjay Pro's styles!

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

AJ

Thanks AJ, Will give that a try! With my Roland V accordion in the mix ought to be some setup!
