I saw this on his Facebook page... frown

"Good afternoon, this is Boz his youngest son, unfortunately as some of you know he has passed away today September 30 at 9 am. I'm going to keep his page up to keep his friends (all of you that follow him) to keep you updated with times and locations for viewing and funeral. I am so saddened about his loss and will forever miss and love him!
Thanks everyone for all of your support and prayers passed along!"

No mention of him being sick recently? Just out of a clear blue sky he's gone. To me, Joe is just like DonM a giant congenial large Teddy Bear. Joe's one of the best vocalist I've heard here. I liked him. I can't believe it. After last year suffering with my sick son Drew and watching him pass away, I can truly relate to the family's pain and sorrow. To all the Ayala family my sincere sorrow. May the God of mercy grant you the courage and strength to help one another through this time of grief, Amen.

I'm so sorry to hear about Joe's passing. He had such a beautiful voice and played very tasteful keyboards parts. I'll always appreciate Joe's kind words regarding some of my music that I posted. It meant a lot coming from a pro like him. I enjoyed his live performances that were posted and it's evident that his audiences loved him. Rest in peace, Joe.

So very sad to see Joe is no longer with us. He (like many of the folks on this forum) inspired me to develop my skills as an arranger player. I loved his voice too. Such a great approach he had to music and just an overall wonderful talented gentleman. Prayers and condolences to his family. We will all miss Joe for sure.

I attended Joe's funeral today, he was attired in his favorite Hawaiian shirt, black slacks and appeared as if he was headed out to do a job at a Tiki Bar in his home town of Key West, Florida. He was surrounded by a large number of family and friends, and there were a few familiar faces in the crowd in the form of activities directors that we both performed for over the years. He will long be remembered by those of us that knew him well, and the audiences he performed for throughout most of his life.
