I wonder how successful the PA4X will be? On the Korg forums it is not being raved about very much. Owners of the PA3X seem to believe there has not been enough change to upgrade ie-spend the monty.

We hear this every time a new model comes out. The most vocal are always the same ones, and they probably wouldn't be in the market anyway. Most of what we have heard so far is just that: hearsay. Once legitimate users get their hands on them we'll see the rest of the story, good or bad. I think I have learned my lesson at last about buying from the first production batch. I'll let somebody else do the beta testing this time. I think DNJ has one on order.
My 2 cents, I had Pa2xPro, then moved to another arranger I think it may have been a T4. Lost track of dates but when the Pa3x was released even with all the hype it never got my interest enough for me to even demo one.................than about a year after the release of the Pa3x I stopped in to visit Frank at AudioWorks, he had one in stock I played it, then 2 days later I placed an order for one. I love reading the hype about new arrangers, I would never rule buying or not buying one based on hype. For me until I can get my hands on one I take the hype or lack of hype with a grain of salt.
Its sounds good, but when did you hear a bad or ugly arranger for the last time, must have been 2 decades ago or so..
All TOTL arrangers currently sound top knotch, thats why i am mostly looking at the features... and when looking at the features of the pa4x, there is 2 thinks that make me kind of sad so far..
Only 400MB sample ram.. Only 1 IFX shared by the 4 keyboard parts
But soundwise these youtube videos seem to indicate that the PA4x made a step up from the pa3x.. with bigger samples and a new guitar and a new drum mode..

Ha ha, it almost happened to me, too... before I realized that "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" was the English title of the movie of which the soundtrack played originates, it doesn't refer to the PA-4X as a rating

I know, but the remark still holds ground...
All arrangers are good... Just pick the one with the features you need... and you are all set to go..

My bad. I should've written a less ambiguous header.
