And one of the most important things for live playing and sounding alive. DRUMS: Yamaha 1- Korg 10 good thing we all have choices,......not everyone is concerned with the same things & needs,.....for me I'm happy with the Yamaha Drums, Styles, Sounds, (especially using some of the newer S970 styles,) and S950 key-feel, size, & weight for gigging as it's set up for MY needs on stage. Although a large Tilt Up Display like the Korg Pa4x would be nice on future S- models. From what you've been saying lately, it seems that the S950 is a perfect fit for you. And who can blame you? It's a very nice keyboard! Wish I had one, too!

Assigning 0 to 5 points for the realism of the first sounds, my score would be: Tyros 5 / PA-4X Piano: 3 / 5 Big Strings: 3 / 1,5 Full Pipe Organ: 5 / 4,5 Solo Violin: 3,5 / 5 Nylon Guitar: 5 / 5 I've seen the video 2 or 3 times already, and I took notes. Judging only this particular video, I prefer the Korg for; *Piano *Strings *Violin *Blues Style *Balad Style I prefer the Tyros for; *Pipe Organ *Guitar *Bossa Style *Rock Cha Cha Cha Style It also depends what style variations he used. And for the WoodWinds (Flute, Clarinet and Sax), I think I may prefer the Korg. I'm kins of shocked, because in the past, I was never crazy about Korg's solo instrument sounds, compared to the earlier Tyros models. Plus, the Korg is less expensive. Why can't $10,000 just fall from the sky so I can get both?

I am regularly out listening to live bands etc. (Real instruments, real players) and this is what I use as my criteria, which for me rules out the T5, as apart from some of the new voices it just lacks the realism of a live performance. (The PA4x sounds more live then the T5 and the apart from the new voice sections, the T4 also sounds more realistic than the T5) Each to his own Bill

And there are even more impressive pipe organs in T5 The jazz violin on T5 has a jazzy sound to it, i prefer the celtic violin... having no classic SA2 violin is a minus indeed However, you did not assign notes to the styles... because thats where i tought the PA4x shines compared to the standard Tyros styles (modding them however can add the desired realism)
