Sounds like Alabama Mason. Here's this year's rendition, which I like even more than last year's.

Thanks guys, and I agree...EXCEPT, the one DNJ posted is this year's, on the Yamaha PSRS970, using Country Ballad 2 style. The one Gary posted was Korg, either PA900 or PA3X, I don't remember which.
The vocal and harmony was done on the Korg. The vocal and harmony on the Yamaha version was T.C. Helicon Harmony M module midied to the S970.

Yes, they are both good, Don, but FWIW, I prefer last year's ...

I prefer the Korg version. The guitar sound is more realistic. I could really tell when I heard the Yamaha version, I'm pretty used to that sound by now. I use my keyboard so much differently than Don. I use drawbar so lot on sound two with a volume pedal for blend. Upper one is almost always some sort of piano. When not using organ I use the Hawaiian guitar, accordion, or brass.

Hey, I can only go by what I hear. wink I listened to both renditions on my PC using the Yamaha MS50 sound system, which to me, is almost as good as headphones.

Happy New Year,

Gary cool

Happy New Year, Gary! I gotta get me a decent pair of monitors, too. Santa blew out on that this year, too.

I like the realistic sound of the guitar via the Korg the best. The guitar intro with the Korg really sounded so melodic and flowed along so nicely with the mood of the piece. No matter what instrument you play on, EQ and mixing can really make the difference as to what sounds best. It is so subjective. It would make difference if the original recording was done with a Tele or Strat as well. Both guitars have a distinctive tone. I really enjoyed both performances and really love Don's rich vocals.

Thank you! You are right it's very subjective! The Korg (and Yamaha for that matter) was plugged into two channels on mixer, and the recording made on Tascam DR05 from the aux outputs on the mixer.

I have considered getting a PA4X it just nobody has one for me to demo in so cal kind of a shame so I will prob wait till Namm and give it a go.

last year they did not have a PA3X 2 years ago there was one in korg Booth just for the demo guy who was not good at all.

I think the PA4x is going to be Special Wow what a combo T5 and pA4x

i have been considering it but got to play one and go thru opp system

I think for Rock and blues country PA4X will shine drums as well for studio work I am getting ready to start my studio season so if I can find one to play I might pull the trigger

no play no buy .

You can order on from a dealer such as Sweetwater, who will let you return it within 30 days. I don't think you will return it though.
I do prefer to order from our friends here though, George and Frank.

George does not have a 4x I asked him already

it a problem here in so cal getting TOTL units to Demo

Don I look forward to your comments

one thing I like about T4 T5 is I use midi file a lot when I do my shows because I am singing out front or playing Guitar or a Grand Piano ect so full arrangements go well Yamaha units you can traspose the song and the lyric and chords also transpose as well so if one any given night if I am in poor voice or I want to play guitar with out capo ect it a great option maybe I want to play a song in a different key the lyuric and chord chart transposes I do not carry any music anymore so I can connect with my audience and no Ipads infront as well so the screen gives me a chart does the Korg offer the transpose option on Midi files and keep the keybed in key of file ?

Yes, you have your choice--transpose song, transpose kb, transpose both.
