I have seen various software to open STY files on the PC ... Has anyone used any of this software, and could you tell me what it might do? ... I am looking to 'review' styles before D/L them into my Pa900 ...
thank you

Tony, the only .sty files are Yamaha format, which can be opened using a number of free programs. They can also be opened using Windows Media Player, but in order to hear them correctly, they need to utilize the keyboard's sound engine - at least that has been my experience.

Tony....
Try this. It is not compatible with Mac...but should work on a PC.

Yamaha styles will play simply by changing the extensions from .sty to .mid. I don't think Korgs will though.
Different format.

Doesn't the Korg Pa4x allow you to audition styles from the USB stick?

No, you have to load styles to play them on the PA900. It's really simple though.

Actually I find it way easier to use than Yamaha. Everything's easier to get to and quicker.
