I guess they aren't willing to learn. Australia had a mass shooting back in the 90s and then simply banned guns. There hasn't been a mass shooting again since then.
And the argument that criminals will still have guns doesn't really cut it. Because of the ban black market guns are so expensive. As Jim Jefferies says, if you are criminal that can afford $30,000 to buy an assault weapon ... then you have enough money you don't have to be a criminal
Don't get me wrong, I live in the USA and I do own handguns for target shooting. But if I had to give them up for the betterment of society it would not be a big deal.
Jim Jefferies is an Australian comedian who nails it.
That's the thing, Nigel, you're willing to give them up for the betterment of society while the usual sentiment is "over my dead body".
Now they have lunatics head the NRA who turn every mass shooting into a positive thing for the NRA. Truth doesn't matter to them. Ir look like it's a requirement to deny the truth. "Facts lie, bullets don't" would be a perfect slogan for the fanatics.
This guy is a genius. Sometimes maybe too rough, but that is what I like about him. I never liked sugar coating anyway. I saw him live last November here in London.
