The warm strings are absolutely top notch! Much better than those of the BK-7m. Couldn't be any better with MoXF libraries or SRX 04. Amazing! Piano also sounds good.
I guess brass is the main weak point.

If you are really crazy about M1 sounds, you can buy a Korg Krome, you can load the original M1 soundset into it for free.

At $49.99, the Korg M1 Vst is an option, too, especially if you already have a Vst capable computer.

I use it with my EWIUSB. It works well.

I love the formfactor of the M1 in rack form... Just set it behind your arranger and it adds a fullfledged synth with Karma...
