OK. I'm waiting for that Yammie Tyros built like the PA4X. The PA 4X has both sliders and knobs.

I love playing gigs with my Tyros. However, my Tyros doesn't have the active control knobs my PSR S970 has. Those active control knobs work wonders balancing out volumes at a live gig.

My S970 doesn't have the premium styles/voices that my Tyros has...that I use almost every gig.

Yamaha, I can understand a cautious approach...I worked for a company that invested millions $$$ in R & D.

Thing is, we both know, the Tyros 6, or whatever, is going to be a combo of the PSR S970 and the latest Tyros.

Fine.

Produce it now. Ok?

Or, try to find an old PSR-5700, it had sliders and knobs. But that was a long time ago, and it weighed a ton.

Don,

You had both...at least the S970...,

You got all the styles and voices(the lush steel guitar and so forth) of Yamaha?

Well, the knobs on the pa4x are not freely assignable..

The knobs on the psr s970 are assignable...

I guess we will see those assignable knobs of s970 on the Tyros 6, including some more features from the Montage...

Personally i am still hoping for an 88 key version of that Tyros6 with Montage build quallity, but then that would be a 30kg instrument.... Guess not something you want to use on stage witouth roadies..

Overall, I like the styles better on the Korg. I have been able to find everything I need. Yamaha of course has a lot more third party styles available. Some good, some not so good.
I have found an excellent Pedal Steel guitar. There is also a really good one to use in styles or multipads.
I prefer the guitar on the 4X to Yahama!! That's amazing.

Guys, We're really talking apples and oranges. The 4X is twice the price of the 970. What Yamaha accomplished with the par series is pretty remarkable. The sounds stack up with a board twice the price. I realize a lot of the features your talking about are performance issues...but we have to keep things in perspective. Yea...I think the 4X is an excellent arranger and definitely gives Yamaha some serious competition with whatever their next high end arranger will be.
