Just checking to see if there is any new info on playing manual base on the audya 4 with an accordion. Manual base button on mine doesn't do anything. Also the "to low" and "bassist" buttons do nothing. At this point I'm thinking these 3 buttons are only useful on the keyboard versions of the Audya.

Are there no accordion players using Audya out there?

Gruhs,
I share your frustration. I am using Audya4 with accordion, OS 5.0 and the manual bass button does not work. My bass can only be heard when the arranger is activated. The bass volume and octave parameters do not work either (while not in arranger mode). The volume levels and octaves visibly change, but there's no audible difference. Just a constant loud bass sound. I tried changing the bass midi channel from 3 to 4, but that didn't help. If anyone has any suggestions it's greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Hi Cleo59,

just tried it with my Audya, and it works fine. I do not often use it, so it was not possible for me to answer faster.
I have the SW 5.0A

What I did to activate it:

Manual Bass must be activated (so that you can play it independent from the arranger)

In the Settings:

Menu/Keyboard Control/Accordeon

The Accordeon mode must be activated "Active"

With this I can change the sustain, octave etc.
The Bass sound itself depends on the current style selected.

Hope this helps

Joe

Joe,

Thanks so very much for your reply. I will try what you suggested. I have OS 5.0. Hopefully changing the settings as you explained will work with mine too.

Joe0710, are you using an Audya 4 or one of the Audya keyboards? I tried the mentioned settings and the "manual bass" button still does nothing.

Hi Gary,

I'm using an Audya 76, it is one from the 1st series.

Joe, thanks for the info... I think it confirms my suspicions that those buttons only active on keyboard versions.

Regards,
Gary

Joe,
I tried what you suggested but it has no effect. Like Gary I am also using the Audya4 with accordion. Audya4 was made for accordion so how does one play an accordion without the manual bass functioning properly? Any other accordion players out there?

In the 5.0A update for Audya4 on the Ketron site it states the following:

24 . In the "Accordion" mode the Manual Bass function was optimized.

Can any one tell me what "optimize" actually means? Users say update to 5.0A did not correct the manual bass mode malfunction using accordion. Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Cleo59, Gary,

on which of the 2 midi Inputs you have connected the accordeon? The accordeon MUST be connected to the input IN2 (Keyb).

I can't image, that the SW for the Audya 76, Audya 4 and Audya 5 is different in the main routines - and the accordeon mode is one of the main routines - so I think it must be a setting topic - but you never know with Ketron devices.

What I can offer is to make some screenshots from my settings, this is all I can do.

I'm wondering why AJ is not giving some hints....

A "half way" victory for the manual bass problem Audya4 for accordion.
After checking all of the suggested settings which were all fine, I changed BsonStop to BsOFFstop (3/8). This allowed manual vs arranger bass to activate.

And although the bass voices can be changed, the volume parameter does not function (manual mode only). Adjustments of bass volume parameters from low to high (including 0) the bass sound is constant in manual mode. A loud "flat" bass sound. I am using the bass volume slider to over ride the problem right now, but it should work like all other parameters. To change the bass octave, I must come out of the "view" window and go through 3-4 additional windows in order to manipulate the bass octave. A lot of steps. Any suggestions?

Thank you Joe & Gary for your helpful support and interest. It's very much appreciated!

Hi I have this issue and quite frankly renders the auyda 4 useless for accordionist. I have used ketron modules from the ms40 x4 and xd3 and all allow for accordions playing manual bass.

Ketron have done nothing to resolve for Auyda 4 users and means I have two manuall reduce the volume and use the foot pedal to activate still leaving the bass sound to be bland without any effects. I emailed ketron IT as I assume many accordion players from Italy will be complaining no reply after sales with ketron is terrible

Hi all.

I tried this go to view press one of the endings and whilst the styles is ending manually reduce the base down this will stop the big staccato boom .
I also have managed to get the bass to sustain by again going to mode view and then selecting the sustain then changing the poly to mono twice and saving this i think will allow you to play manual bass but if you wish to end using manual it will not however work but again will end unless you use on the endings as above give it a go and let me know
kind regards
Accordionman
