Most places I perform I have no problem at all....but every once in a while I play somewhere and as soon as I power on I get a ground hum from the speakers...my speakers have a ground button also which doesn't help...

what are you doing to eliminate this, special power strip, or what if anything? .... thoughts?

Donny: Maybe to simple of a suggestion but, have you tried a ground lift adapter. Converts the 3 prong plug to 2 prong. Sometimes power cords wrapped tightly together can cause hum. I know Sweetwater sells hum eliminators as well.

I'm sure others have ideas. Good luck.

I plug everything into the same power supply, and it seems to work pretty well.

Like I said it only happens once in a while but its annoying for sure..different places are wired weird.....and sometimes recessed or flourecent lighting can cause this too for some reason..

first Look for another power plug the problem is a ground if not avail I own a stereo DI box with a ground lift it will help run this out of your keyboard to your PA
there about 150.00

works great I use one when I am pluging into a house system as well.

Floresent lighting also causes noise as well stage lighting with floresent lighting can cause the problem as well.

One of those high quality power strips might help the hum issue. I think mine is a “Monster” product. Works well. Here’s a bad electricity story for you. Several years back, I was working a duo on the front porch of an old, old historic home. About every 15 to 20 minutes the circuit would trip or blow and everything in the house went dead. Someone would go to the back of the house to fire it up again, only to blow again in a few minutes. The entire gig went that way for several hours. Talk about disruptive.

Unplug each device, one at a time, while the amp is turned on. When the hum disappears, you've found the culprit. If everything is unplugged other than the amp, then place a ground default plug on the AC line and see if this helps. Be careful, though. You could become the ground connection simply by touching the mic or something else that is not grounded.
