Today i had the afternoon off and got my hands on an PX-360 Casio over at Keymusic in Rotterdam.
In the end the keyaction was okay, tough i never get used to the the actuall stuff they make these keys from, just doesnt feel nice to my fingers, tough gives a lot of grip...
In the end, i was kind of dissapointed, it started out very nice, with good acoustic piano sounds and top knotch DP sounds... but everything thereafter was kind of dissapointing..
Most instruments sound like pre Yamaha Tyros1, they are okay and you can make good music with it.. however compared to the other brands they lack depth and fidellity.. I think it comes because the DSP power which is still lackluaster in most current Casio instruments..
The styles where also not inspiring, very basic, on par with medelli, trailing Yamaha Roland, Ketron and Korg by a decade..
When i sat behind a Roland RD800 just minutes later, it was clear to me that Casio still has a long way to go when it comes to sound.
However their touchscreen interface works really realy nice and adds a lot of ease of opperation.. So much that afterwards when toying with the PSR-S970 i kept pushing the screen.. Yes trhe Yamaha interface seems to be created for a touchscreen to.. in the age of touchscreens the buttons to the side just dont cut it anymore, as long as you keep the touchinterface icons big enough...
