I won't report each gig, but I thought this might be informative.

Just finished a 4 hour gig at our local mall which was having a show. The mall was very busy. I used the SSV.3 and Tyros 4. The SSV.3 was on my rock and roller cart.

There were a number of musician friends of mine there. I asked them to wander around the mall and listen in. The responses were all positive and there was a lot of interest in the SSV.3.

One surprise comment was that a couple of my musician friends said the could hear me pretty clearly at quite a distance...they estimated 75 ft or so...their estimate. They said the sound was very good.

The fellow that retained me for his restaurant said the got a lot of compliments on the sound.

Again, the thing I noticed was that I could hear myself so well.

Including the individual parts,I bet. It opens everything up and clearly disperses it.

I am happy it went well for you.

Bernie,

I think this is true...perhaps that's why I'm hearing so well. I can hear each part.

Torch,

Interesting...the deflector thing. Maybe used when playing with others?

The design idea, as I understand it, is to disburse the sound, create a stereo effect. This is what I hear and others in the audience have told me they hear.

The idea is to channel the stereo sound created by the side speaker to a narrower field. Mainly necessary to either divert the sound from the side away from a neighboring musician or to aim the stereo effect to yourself. This is for near field, as the audience hears it either way.

The amp stand idea intrigues me though I haven't tried that yet. I've only used this unit in public twice, so it will take some time.

Also, I like the fact that the sub out is full range. I experimented at home running from the sub out on the SSV.3 to one of my Bose Compacts. Sound was good, full range on the Bose.

When my wife and I go out will usually use two Bose compacts. I'm thinking we will try the SSV.3/Bose combo at some point.

While waiting for my SSV.3 I did a similar test. I connected an amp to my Maui 11 without its own column speaker. From what I hear, the Maui 11 has a lot more bass than the Bose Compact. I am thinking of usig the Maui 11 as a sub either with or with the column. What about the Bose Compact? Can you use the sub by itself? Yes, I, too, like the fact that the sub out of the SSV.3 is full range, and still I have the option of taking off the column speaker of my Maui 11 or Maui 28.
