I bought a kn7000 in England.
I just received it....but I can't play with it.
There is a strange ac plug and I don't know how to use this...
Is this a plug for England ?

In the owners manual, see Pg. 2 for info. on the plug that is supplied for UK instruments.Please read the caution instructions. Hope this helps. Lloyd

problem solved...I use an other cord with a normal plug from a stereo installation...and it works...

Not really on if the plug does'nt fit on a £2000+ instrument is it . Seems to me a lot of little things seem to be going wrong with this machine, according to the posts from technics forum members.Maybe I will have a re-think about my order.

he bought the machine in England, and he lives in Belgium. It is not really surprising that the mains plug is different!

You will see that Alain bought his 7000 in England, that means it will be fitted with a 13 amp three pin plug as is normal
I suspect that they use a different style plug in Belgium as in most other places around the world so it would not be a problem to change
So with you being in England it would have the right plug attached.

Just cut the English 13amp three pin plug & fit one that you use in Belgium

Alain. A note of CAUTION. The Plug for the UK model is fitted with a 5 amp fuse.

By Law, all mains powered electrical equipment for use in UK, must be fitted with a moulded 3pin 13Amp type plug. As John says, there is a 5 amp fuse in this plug, (whose purpose is to protect the cable, not the instrument) but if I remember correctly, the continental mains plugs do not have a facility for fitting a fuse in the plug.

Indeed. You are relying on the fuse inside the 7000's internal power supply for protection. The philosphy of fusing in the UK is that a particular fuse is only designed to protect whatever is down the chain as far as the next fuse. I would imagine that the 7000 has something like a 1A internal fuse on the mains side of its power supply, assuming a maximum power consumption somewhat less than 100W at full blast!

presisely, the power consumption will be approximately equivalent to a light bulb with an internal fuse to cater for switch on surges, 1A is a good guess. Continental mains leads have no fuses generally.
