Chomp chomp chomp Loved it. I think it was better than Elvis' rendition.

Don, I sincerely believe your rendition is better than the original. Better guitar licks, more of them, and cleaner, crisper vocals. Sure beats the Hell out of the one I posted some time ago. Gary

A friend asked me to record this for him, and I did on the job tonight. Thought I'd share it with you too. It's the Korg PA4x, Sennheiser E945 mic. Recorded to line-ins on Tascam DR05 digital recorder. Only editing was normalizing in Audacity and converting from WAV to MP3. The song is Polk Salad Annie, written and recorded by Louisiana native Tony Joe White, and some guy named Elvis did it too. https://app.box.com/s/desuehixnmi0f9h7ekts5zdvqnnt16g1 Just read that Tony Joe White passed away at 75. Singer-songwriter Tony Joe White, a prolific tunesmith whose swamp-soaked 1968 pop hit “Polk Salad Annie,” reflected his Louisiana upbringing, died yesterday, Wednesday, October 24th, of natural causes at his home in Leipers Fork, Tennessee, just outside Nashville. He was 75. White, who had a Top Ten record with “Polk Salad Annie,” also saw it popularized by Elvis Presley. He was also perhaps best known as the writer of the deeply atmospheric and soulful “Rainy Night in Georgia,” a Number Four pop hit for Brook Benton in 1970 and covered by a number of other acts including Hank Williams Jr., B.J. Thomas, Shelby Lynne, and as a duet by Conway Twitty and Sam Moore. https://a.msn.com/r/2/BBOUk6W?m=en-us&referrerID=InAppShare

Damn, I'm gonna have to stop listening to your posts Don. Makes me want to go buy a Korg and I know I still won't sound like that!

Earl, I've heard Don perform this song many times with many different arranger keyboards - all sounded great, but I sincerely believe his best rendition was with a Yamaha. Good luck, Gary
