Hi Lloyd,
Was it Bob's old PSR style forum originally?
Anyway , congratulations. Yes I noticed you bought the PA4X, Korg's been my favourite brand since selling my technics kn7000 after they stopped making them. Tried a couple of others before my pa 800, once I bought it, I was sold on Korg.
I did replace my old psr1500 with the psrs950 , because I like some of the Yamaha styles and I was trying to cure myself of my addiction to converting styles for my korg ( good luck with that one),
Then DonM had to mention the PA4X has a midifile to style convertor, unfortunately for hubby, the eyes lit up. Going to start working on poor hubby, soon. Might take a while, but I don't give up easy. Haha.
There probably will be a bit of a learning curve, but well worth it.
The operating system has obviously changed a bit. Korg are brilliant the way they must listen to feed back.
With the PA 800 they added some great updates at least a year into production. They added guitar mode, they added a midifile to style function ( not to be confused with the midifile to style convertor in the Pa 4x) all for free.
Korg did a big survey before the Pa3 x came out, on what people wanted. They gave us 4 fills instead of the 2. Totally coincidental no doubt, but I wanted XG Drum kits for my PSR style conversions which I did from midi files not via EMC . Saved me hours of work not having to transpose individual drums from XG drum mapping to Korg mapping. I used to share them with any members who wanted them. Naturally we also got some great new sounds and styles.
Not game to check what's new in the pa4x, just yet .haha
I've haven't used my keyboards in months, just slowly starting to sort thru my styles and stuff again. If you need any , just let me know. Basically a mix of my user styles and some Korg styles that weren't on the pa3x.
