so i just started using registrations, awesome
i've been doing ti the hard way, picking styles, changing tempos, etc
it's great you can change the key and have the REG remember this
BUT, why is it that when you exit REG mode, and pick a style, it stays in the last REG key, meaning, now you're playing in the key of REG

i don't know why i would ever want to stay in the Key of my last REG
so a few times, i forgot to MANUALLY reset the key after leaving REG mode, and my guitar player looks at me like "WTF".

can we PLEASE at least have an option so when you leave REG mode, and actually load up a NEW style, the key is RESET?

anyone actually prefer your keyboard to stay on the last REG key even when loading a new style (not a new REG)

do i make any sense?

how can i DELETE a REG?
how can i RENAME a REG?
how can i INSERT a REG between 2 REG?
how can i MOVE a REG to a different location on list?

Registrations are treaded as files .... all the above can be done in DISK mode.
* Press DISK.
* Press DISK UTILITY (to dislay the COPY/MOVE/DELETE ... etc functions.
* Scroll down to the REGISTRATION folder and press ENTER to display it's contents.
* Scroll to SINGLE REGISTRATION folder and press ENTER to display its contents and here lies all your registrations.
* Select the ones you want to DELETE/MOVE and perform the action.

Usually, the REGISTRATION function stores everything including the transposition value ... same as if you were playing live (selection styles, voices ... etc). When you finish a song and selet a new style and voice for another song, whatever the transpostion value is for the song you just played is retained .... until you manually go in and change the transpose value ... same for Registrations!

Thanks,

thanks AJ for explaining, BUT

i see a REG as a song, i have one for every song,
so when i goto another "song" that's not setup as a REG (leave REG mode), and pick a style,
i do NOT want it to retaing the KEY of the last Song/REG, so...

I ask if we can have an OPTION in settings to RESET key when you load up a different style,
otherwise i have to remember to MANUALLY change the key every single time i choose new style after i have left REG mode with "song" that had a different key saved.....
understand my frustration? :-)

You mean provide the option for the keyboard to always reset the transpostion value to "0" when ...

* A style is selected after playing with a style that was manually selected.
* A style is selected after playing with a style that was recalled by a registration.

Thanks ...

i was thinking more...
reset transpose to 0 after, leaving a REG that has a key change, AFTER you load another style, so i guess your option 2.

not really when changing style to style, (non REG mode)
only when leaving REG mode, and loading new style

thoughts?

Umm. No. At that point I would just manually adjust key with transpose

The idea is for this to be AUTOMATIC, when you leave REG and choose a new style

1 other thing i need REG to remember.

INTRO ENGAGED - so when i choose my "song" (REG), i can just play and not have to remember which of the 3 intos i have to use for that song,
then hit the Intro button every single time

Intro memorization to Reg has been asked and requested many times before but according to AJ and Ketron it can't be implemented due to "patent issue".

patent issue? makes no sense,
how can you patent memorizing an "intro"?
all i know is that i REALLY need this SIMPLE feature
makes no sense to be able to "memorize", low to bass, key, key start, key stop, arr A,B,C,D, sounds, etc,
and NOT the INTRO,
please AJ, Please Ketron

Henni

I appreciate your suggestion, but

That's just a "workaround"
Also, we are limited in file name characters as it is, so that's just 1 or less characters we can use to name file
I don't want to have to remember to press that intro button every time
REG should remember the state of the keyboard and not exclude the INTRO
Which I'm sure all of you use

Would you guys not love to load up a REG and just play chord and intro starts?

Best to accept the things one cannot change & find ways to live with it. Been using registrations extensively right from day one & after six years this method still works for my Audya...

Best to improve on things we CAN change (we meaning AJ, Ketron)
Do not be afraid of change, especially change which is for the better

one other thing i notice is that REG takes too long between changing/loading, it takes 3 to 4 seconds.

as soon as i finish a song, i cannot have SILENCE, and have audience stare at me
is this because i'm still using old HD, and have not installed my SSD?

is it faster with SSD? (the loading of REG) ???

i need this to be INSTANT, perhaps it's time to upgrade that Tandy 1000 (286 processor)

thx, but is that because of the SSD?
or was it always instant, even with old "original" HD?
Basically does the SSD, speed up the AUDYA?
and if so, in what ways?

My MJPro is equipped with SSD and still takes few seconds to load styles and regs, I guess due to size of audio wave files.

i'd say due to CPU power and RAM,
i think CPU of AUDYA is that of a 15 year old computer, probably a 386

Leezone,

You said you only started using registrations now. You used to adjust everything manually for each song before. Now you complain that the registries are too slow...

Could you really do all of this faster manually before...

lol Henni, i also use a G-70 so i kinda bounce between the 2.
i knew you were gonna ask me
and YES, i did it the hard way, pick a style adjust tempo, etc
i gotta learn difference between single and block, and see how block would help, what it is, etc
i guess block is like a folder? so i have a block lets say of ballads, a block of rock-n-roll, a block of disco,
is that how people use blocks?

I use block for each performance. In there I put the registrations of the songs I'm going to play in the order I intend to play them.

so can't a block be used pretty much for a set
so block 1 is a set
block 2, is your second set, etc...

is a block just a group of songs/REG's?
like a folder

so maybe you have a LATIN block, a ITALIAN BLOCK, a DISCO block, etc...
