Anyone had any experience with these?

http://www.bose.com/prc.jsp?url=/promotions/entry_pages/f1/index_en.jsp

I'm just curious. I know these systems are associated with larger venues. I've been visiting with a friend(solo act) that uses just a single F1 812 speaker in smaller club venues. He used to use a Bose compact but said he gets a much warmer, deeper sound with the 812.

I'm always curious about new systems.

Thoughts?

At $1079 each for the speaker and sub,I wonder when the sub would be necessary.

Once you play with subs regardless of which system, you will never want to play without them again.

I'm thinking with a 12 inch woofer a sub would never be needed for what I do. If I was starting over choosing between a Compact and this, I might go with one of these as they apparently have twice the horsepower as a Compact and the price is comparable to a Compact.

They should have about 8 times the horsepower of the Compact. The bigger L1 model has 250 Watts, the Compact around 130W as far as I remember, and a single of these speakers is rated 1000W.

2 inputs doesn't mean stereo?

I'm not exactly sure how that works. On my Space Station V.3 I seem to get a bigger sound by using both the left and right outs into the SSV.3. By bigger I mean bigger than a single out from my keyboard to a single in on the Bose Compact.

Guess I'm going to have to do a bit more research.
