Bit off topic, but about 15 years ago, hubby took me to a concert . It was a bunch of famous English bands from the 60's. The real ones , not tribute bands. By this time they were past their prime, and a tad off key, but for me the concert was fabulous. Took me back to my teens.
p.s. I'm not a musician, just a crazy hobbyist. Haha
Not for nothing, but, vocally, these guys don't sound anything like the Beatles. They might dress like them, play like them, and do spot-on recreations of the arrangements, but......vocally.....they're a bit off. No....they're a lot off. I've heard better "Paul" McCartney's at our local Karaoke club!
In all fairness, I'm a huge Beatles fan and I've listened to their records many times over the years. No cover band will ever do them justice!
That may be true as NO ONE could ever come close to the Beatles...but in reality lots of people paid good money to go see them perform they got paid very well for their recreation and tributes and in the end that's all that matters.

No, I disagree......that's NOT all that matters. Good music has been diluted so badly that people have been trained to except mediocrity......everywhere, not just music. But bringing it back to music, "all that BAD music needs to succeed, is for people to reject and accept GOOD music. Pretty soon we'll be dumbed down to accepting a monkey, sitting on the back of a Shetland pony and playing Hip-Hop on a harp. I've already noticed the decline in musicianship with local bands. And they play poorly because they're allowed to play poorly. One day folks are going to say to themselves.....I don't know, I just paid $100 to see a concert and I still feel "empty" inside!

The people want what the people want always....so much great talent out there.... there's good and bad in all music..... I choose to extract whats good.

Pray tell.........would you agree that almost everyone with any common sense would agree that drinking a can of coke 3x a day and every day, driving while texting, eating poisoned mushrooms would be bad for you. Today's music is meant to inflame your emotions, not soothe and temper them (like Lawrence Welk presentations used to). The messages in many of today's songs is there to incite violence with words that cater to the topic of the day (kill pigs, etc) Best way I know of to put out a record and make sure it sells!
You strike me as a person who sits on the sidelines and watches society deteriorate. Something like Nero watching Rome burn while he fiddles.....the only difference being he had a fiddle, not a Yamaha S950!
