Very nice Gary, but I'll stick to my old standby (in my 'man-cave with Roland VP770, PK7a pedals, and BK7m). I still have two Nords (C1 and C2D) so at the moment, I'm pretty well fixed for organs. In addition to just loving the 'Hammond' sound and loving playing the instrument, it keeps me from lusting after every new keyboard that hits the market. Plus, it won't play anything UNLESS YOU PLAY IT .

We've all been there. As Paul Schaffer said "there's magic in those drawbars. I was an original subscriber to Keyboard magizine for rmay years and even today on the Keyboard Corner website the Hammond sound is one of the most discussed topics Get it Donny, Even if it never leaves your house you need to hear that sound again. BTW I finally saw a Roland VR09. I had thoughts of getting one but after seeing the keyboard , forget it ! Looks and feels like a toy. Go for the Hammond, play it till your fingers bleed, enjoy it, get caught up in the sound, then get tired of it and sell it to me at a big discount LOL!!!

Bill all good points..... One arranger is more then enough to do many things, .... After that you need something substantial in your kb arsenal to kick ass with. And a Hammond always fits the slot...

Bought one about 5 weeks ago, and it has become my "go to" keyboard. I even used it over an arranger for the first time the other night, switching from left-hand bass to arranger bass for specific tunes. Got the 61. Wish I had gotten the 73. Using it with a Motion Sound Top box over a small Polytone bass amp for Leslie effects...not much better than the simulator.
GREAT, PORTABLE instrument. I'm going to try it with a Midjay I have (got from Don M).

Learn it now ... when people say to me "I always wanted to play an instrument" my standard response is "if you start tomorrow in 5 years you will be playing for 5 years if you don't start tomorrow in 5 years you will still be wishing you could play an instrument" ...

[quote=Bachus]The closest thing you can get to the real B3 sound currently on the market...
Build in Italy Weight 17kg (for metal and real wood cabinet) About 1800 euro... Authentic hammond keyfeel Authentic hammond sound
If I had the room and money I' jump on the Hammond XK5. Another step forward toward a B3 emulation.

Wow Bill, the BK9 organ doesn't do it for you?
It is considered to be the best on par with Nord..
I think these hammond clones from Crumar and some others make the Nord C2d and Roland bite the dust for orriginallity... Even the XK5... Thats something people on musicplayers forum definately seem to agree on...
The BK9 hammond is allready lots improved over the G70, according to our old friend Diki.
Not that these other oprions are bad, after all thos years playing B3 sounds on an arranger they are quite nice.. But still fall short compared to the orriginal...

Yea Fran the Bk9 does a great job with the Hammond simulation . Lot of parameters to adjust and run in stereo a,pretty good Leslie. Nothing like moving air with a 122 but good. It's more the ascetics I miss. The real draw bars, switches, layout and wood. I recently saw a Vr09 and had considered trying one. Really looks like a toy but it's a good seller. Find a BK9 you'll like it.
