Don't watch the video instead just listen to it...
let your ears be the judge, sound wise its not easy making a choice, feature wise is a whole different story..... headphone

I preferred the acoustic guitar from the Yamaha. Almost everything else I preferred the Korg. Both are great though. They had the drums much hotter on the Yamaha but they sounded far better than previous models.
If they both were exactly the same, the Korg stills rules in operational features, size, weight, vocal processing and price!

Both sound incredibly well... tough i think espescially the piano´s sythsounds and strings of the korg blew the Yamaha away... I am definate sucker for the Strings and orchestral string sounds in my Kronos, and these new samples definately come from Kronos.

I disagree with you on the guitar, i prefer the more wellrounded pa4x guitar sounds in this video.

I think the yamaha drums where in a different hall then the Korg drums...but they sounded way more upfront then the Korg drums..

Sadly they didnt show the strongest features of the Tyros 5, the ensemble voices and the SA2 souds as well as it much braoder range of Euro organs...
They also didnt show the PA4x strong point, its style and overall soundquallity as a whole instrument

In the end, you cant go wrong with any of these 2...

Playing at home – Tyros

Playing a job – Korg, it has more excitement built into it. People will feel the difference.

Both keyboards are fantastic. I would love to have one of each.

Stood it for about 15 mins, but there has to be something wrong with the recording or settings somewhere, as the T5 was so far behind the PA4x in realism, (Compared to the live music I am used too) that it was an embarrassment. (Both fell well short in the brass section)

I have compared both myself, and while I preferred the PA4x overall, I didn’t find the T5 anywhere near as bad as in that demo.

Just questioning your logic, but why wouldnt something thats more excited to play on stage, be more excited to play at home?

Maybe you mean, the pa4x is aimed at the pro players... While the tyros is more aimed at amateur home players?

But if soemthing is more exciting and more musical to play on stage, shouldnt it feel the same when playing at home...

Both are exciting to me; they both have so much to offer. Since most of my playing has been for weddings and parties, I try to bring excitement to the people at the affair.

This is the logic I used to give my opinion. If I were to play a different type of affair, people who came to sit and listen; Then I might use a Tyros.

As far as the Tyros being a keyboard just for the at home amateur player –no way.
If that was my thought, why being a pro player would I want one in my home? When I retire from playing out I will be using a Tyros with added pedals for my enjoyment.

Offcourse...

but thats because the Tyros primarilly is build with home players in mind. while the korg is primarilly build with Pro players in mind.

recently i have come to release what makes the Tyros such a beloved keyboard... There is a huge community of people allways sharing the new things they have created mostly for free with websites like psrtutorial and the unofficial Yamaha resource website to support that...

There is allways somethign new to be found on these websites, and allways friendly help to answer the questions, now this is whay makes the Yamaha so popular with home users...

Where on the korg forums the audience is much more professional, which also is noticable from the attitude of many players trying to make money from the things they have created, which is only logical from people who play music to make a living.

I think that for many Yamaha players this community feeling might be very important, and they wwill miss most of that feeling (and free resources) when switching to Korg...

And as we all agree, both these instruments sound very very good...

I like the acoustic and steel guitars better on my Yamaha. All else goes to my PA 4X.

I feel like I'm still learning how to use my two PA systems with my 4X.

One other thing I miss on the 4X that my S970 has is some styles that are tailor made(by forum members) for certain songs that my wife does. EX. Que Sera
