I continue to search for that all in one PA.

Bose Compact is great. Many times a single PA is plenty for what I do and occasionally what both my wife and I do. Downside of the Compact is that I need to run a two into one from the keyboard to the Compact. I'm thinking a two into one setup doesn't give me full benefit of the keyboard sound.

My SSV.3 is great but only good for me as a solo and is a bit weak on the bass.

I still have the HK nano. Has stereo inputs plus an input for mic for my wife. Sound is good on the bass end but just OK overall reproducing full range sound. That said, I haven't tried it extensively with my PA 4X.

So, I'm looking for a single PA that has stereo inputs for my keyboard and an additional mic input for my wife...with a good sound.

Been thinking of the Maui 5 as one option.

Also I have the Bose T1 mixer and have thought about a larger Bose unit such as the L1 S1 with B1 bass unit. I did own the original Bose L1...probably the best sound I have had yet but overkill for most of what I do.

Thoughts?

I don't know if I understand your post correctly, but if you are thinking of a stereo operation out of one speaker whether it is Maui 5, Bose Compact, or even a stereo amp such as the SA300, BA330, or the smaller KC110, you won't get much stereo effects at all. I think that's where the Centerpoint Stereo comes in. I won't go into detail here but owners of the Centerpoint are doing very creative things with Centerpoint and other speakers they already have. You might want to read some posts on Musicplayer.com. I have connected my Centerpoint to some amps in my possesion; the Acoustic Image Corus, the subwoofer of the Maui 11, and the Maui 28. The funny thing is that I think I got the bess results out of a dirt cheap home hifi subwoofer just as Aspen the inventor of the Centerpoint experiences. Anyway, Tthey all work well but I am considering getting a smaller sub with more features and control by Monoprice http://www.monoprice.com/Product?p_id=605999. I understand it is really for the studio, but I don't need a lot of bass, and I can use the sub for different purposes.

If you are going to run two Maui 5s, I am sure that you will get full stereo. I think DNJ once confirmed for me that the column speaker of the Maui 5 splits in half, and that is very important, because the Maui 11 doesn't split and it is pretty clumsy to carry that speaker around. I alsmost bought this line array speaker; Turbo iP series http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/IP500 Good reviews, but only the largest model splits in half.

Btw, none of these line array amps such as the Maui5, Turbosound IP series, and the Compact seems to have a stereo link like the Roland SA300 or the BA330. Stereo links are very handy.

I love using two Maui 5's. But you do need two for stereo. Best bet in one unit is the Nano, either the one you have or one bigger. I think my Nano 300 sounds great with the PA4X. Even then, I most often use two of them, but you CAN get true stereo separation with one unit.
I've only used them once since getting the Mauis, when I needed to be set up in two different rooms the same night.

I always use Two Maui 5s......for bigger rooms I add the LD Stinger G2 sub..

LD makes great gear !

Thoughts? Two:
1) Use the RCA inputs on your Compact - Easy to find stereo 1/4" to stereo RCA cable.
2) Use the T-1 with the Compact - all you need is the dedicated power supply. It sounds great with that system.

But it's still not going to be stereo!

If you look at the schematic diagrams of the audio output systems on most keyboards, you will quickly discover that when you plug into the mono jack, there is an internal switch that combines the left and right channels - thus MONO! No different than plugging the right and left outputs into to 2 channels on a mono amp, mixer, etc..., it's still mono.

The good news is that no one in the audience gives a damned.

I probably shouldn't have used the word stereo. What I'm after is a full range sound. Most of my venues are 50 people or less in smaller rooms. I'm guessing there isn't much stereo effect anyway when I use two compacts plus I really don't need two compacts for 50 people.

Last two solo gigs I used my 4X two lines out(two into one adapter) into my Compact. I suppose the sound would have been no different if I had used just the mono line out from the 4X to the Compact...??

My current PA lineup includes two Compacts plus a Bose T1 mixer. My SSV3 which is fine for solo gigs but no place to run a mic for my wife if I use both inputs for the keyboard. And I also have that Nano 300 which does have stereo(two inputs for keyboard) plus a mic input.

I haven't tried the Nano 300 with my 4X yet. In any case, if my wife joined me, I would have a mic input but would still have to run the mic through a mixer for reverb etc. plus it seems the Nano 300 requires lots of fiddling to get a good sound...at least that was my experience with Yamaha keyboards.

I like the Bose T1 mixer but Bose managed to hamstring the mixer by having a single/mono line out. I've tried using the T1 with both Compacts. Bose tech support told me to run the T1 line out to one Compact then a line out from that Compact to the line in on the other Compact. It's mono but I didn't care, I just wanted my wife's voice coming out of both compacts. Problem is that the volume is louder on one compact than the other....and has to be balanced...since they are inline.

Brings me back to the Maui 5.....two inputs for keyboard and a mic input as well. I have no idea if three inputs can be used at once?

Good idea on the two 1/4" to RCA into the Compact. Hadn't thought of that.

And then we get back to Gary's point. Two lines out(two into one) from the keyboard into one line in on the amp probably doesn't give any more of a full range sound than just taking the mono line out into an amp..??

Our church uses a Bose L1 1S. I really like the sound of it and it works well with all instruments I've used plus voice. I already have the T1 mixer for it. But it might be a bit of overkill for us.

Just a thought. Go old school. Sell everything and get a Yamaha Stagepas 400i.
Light / plenty of power for 50 - 100 people / Stereo mixer with effects and enough inputs for you and your wife / nice case available to move it. Get a bigger gig? Add a small sub. The mixer has a sub out which when used cuts the super lows to the Stagepas cabinets so they get even louder. Small sub like this would do it for that system
