Well Maui 5 is more bang for the buck for sure. I can attest to their quality and additional features . I used the Compacts for a long time and feel the Mauis are an improvement for half the price. Can't comment on the Eons but I'll bet they are fine. They be more a comparison to the bigger Mauis and Boses.

I ordered the Eon One. Will give it a whirl.

The mic inputs with EQ and reverb plus multiple channels, looked like they might work for us. Seems like the Eon One has a bit more horsepower as well.

The impression I got with the Maui 5, is that we would need a separate mixer if we wanted to add EQ and reverb to a mic...not sure if that is correct?

The niggle of the Eon One is that it only has a 100 degree dispersion.
