Gary cool

So then we can asume that Korg will not work this route, but Yamaha might for their arrangers? Because for homeplayers, having a big touchscreen with lots of information and easy accesible would be a step forward, and Yamaha's Tyros design is still firstly aiming at the home players.

But then suchg a screen would definately raise production prices and thats the last thing i expect Yamaha to do...So it will probably stay wishfull thinking or an optional thing for arrangers...

Build in supprt for external touschscreens however could be a great thing for every one... you dont have to use them on stage, but it would allow the developers to make edditing styles and sounds a much more userfriendly thing...

The current RISC based MPU used by Yamaha (I love that the ACORN name lives on in suprising places) is too old to support touch screen or HD, so they would need to completley change their technology platform. Its possible - but expensive.

Thats nonsense... The CVP piano has the same processor and has had a touchscreen now for many many years...

Also the Montage with a newer version of that risc processor does have a touchscreen.

There is only a single reason the tyros5 doesnt have a touchscreen, and thats the 70 year old community on psr tutorial indicating they dont want a touchscreen...

I know... But still many people on the psr forums are convinced a touchscreen is a bad idea...

Very true... Imagine the tyros 5 having a touchscreen as large as the lifting part that holds the screen... Now that would be a welcome improvement...

And who currently has the biggest touchscreen? Thats the Yamaha CVP 709, its 8,5"

Bachus I agree all that wasted display space on the ancient
Yamaha displays certainly is time for a change in design and size. If they are smart it will happen,...easy navigation while playing is critical.

Imagine how much room removing the style and sound buttons from the front panel will create.... With a welltought big touchscreen interface... You wouldnt even miss them...
