I have a S970 and a Pa4X and thought about the same question. I also have the Audya, which is a great board, but a little heavier than the Yammy, which is why I bought it. My reasoning was that the S970 is great for certain quieter jobs, and I would leave my Audya home. But now, I bought the Korg, which does it all and easy to transport. OOH, the Yamaha is different in some good ways.
Oh Hell, I guess I will keep them all, as the amount of money I would get for it isn't going to make any difference in my life.

Hi Bernie, Bit like myself, I kept the pa800 too long, now not worth much. Pa3x , I 'm still fiddling round with. PSR s950 I use to do midifiles for my conversions. Probably not worth all that much anymore anyway. Bit like a keyboard museum upstairs. Haha Can't really be bothered with the hassle of shipping. If we still lived in Sydney , be a pick up job, but nobody is going to drive 2 or 3 hrs to the country, to pick up a keyboard that's only worth a few hundred dollars.

I carried a spare keyboard, a duplicate PSR 3000, in the van for 10 years - It never came out of the case. When I purchased the S950, I ended up giving my primary 3000 to my son. I still have the other 3000, sitting in the office beneath a dust cover. Total failures of a modern, arranger keyboard are as rare as hen's teeth. The only failures I ever seen were keypad and power supply failures. I always carried a spare power supply and still have a couple sets of keypads. If you carry a single keyboard, no backup board, at least carry a netbook or laptop so you can DJ in the event of a keyboard failure at a planned event such as a wedding or large, private party. For NH jobs, the AD will usually be more than happy to reschedule the job for a later date. Good luck, Gary

It has been cooler in Florida than it has in Maryland this summer. It's 12:30 PM and the current temperature is 94 in the shade. It will easily hit 100 degrees f here today with the humidity of about 65 percent - just like stepping into a steam bath. I was out on the boat for the past three days, but came home early because of the excessive heat and code red air pollution alert, which is not at all good for folks with bad lungs. Think I'll spend the day in the office today and do some paperwork that I've been neglecting. All the best, Gary

Update: Brought out my S970 for a small gig yesterday. Older folks who like bluegrass gospel. The S970 styles(bluegrass country) and voices(dobro/lap steel) are yet unmatched by my PA 4X. I'd love to be able to reproduce those S970 styles/voices on my 4X....especially the Hawaiian lap steel...ain't nothing close on the 4X. The 4X editing system is pretty versatile...maybe I'll figure something out. Qqzz Hi I've converted a few of the PSR styles over the years. Some of the older styles convert quite well, used to be able to do them in my old XG works program from a midifile of the style. Used to be as simple as changing the .sty into .mid and I had the midifile I required. Then did the editing required. Unfortunately the newer ones are a bit more difficult. Have to record the midifile I require in my s950. The guitar tracks are more complex , the mega voices and now the audio drums. Done a couple so far from my s950. Was there any particular style you were using? There is some basic sound editing in Style play mode Menu Track controls Sound edit, Came across it when I was looking for a drum editor. You must have sounds I don't have in my s950 . Is it anything like the pedal steel in the GM/XG section of the Korg sound banks? That one sounds a bit like the pedal steel in my s950.
