I know a guy that just uses a Bose Compac for guitar and vocals. Sounds good. Set up and pack up in 10 minutes or less.

A guitarist I know doesn't bother with a guitar amp at all, he has a Line 6 Firehawk-fx board http://uk.line6.com/firehawk/firehawk-fx and plugs straight into whatever PA mixer is being used.

Sounds tremendous to me but then I'm not a guitarist!

Sorry, but the last time I connected into a house system they had too much control over my sound.

Much time is spent getting the right sound in my music studio; even if you use a mixer to go to the house system it is the same.

3 channels (2 with EQ and effects) dual, separate line outs, or a mixed DI - small, light - powerful. I use it for NH jobs, or as a guitar amp with the )4pc) band for dance situations.
HIGHLY recommended.

I have a Carvin AC100...three channel...1 for microphone, one for bass or keyboard and a third for guitar, with a compatibility switch, so it will work with both piezo pick-up or magnetic.

I used this outside on a patio with arranger, nylon string and vocal mike for 5 years for an audience of 200 plus. Has a jack for a 2nd speaker. A 2nd 12" works great.

I replaced it with a more current model, with effects. This has no effects, but has an effects loupe and good reverb.

It has a 12" and line out. Current model is $449.00. I'd take $150.00 plus shipping.

Another option is to use a sans amp, directly into the PA. I have both bass and guitar models and use them all the time.

Check out the current AG 100. Mine is covered in conventional black fuzz finish. Been used , but works great with no tears, scars, etc.

Dave and Russ ... thank you ... I'll show my ignorance - these say 'Acoustic' Guitar Amps ... how would they be for an electric guitar? ...

The Carvin has an impedance switch on one chAnnel...acoustic (PIEZO) that changes to electric (magnetic). In photos, it's on the right side of thew 1/4/" input..

Works GREAT! I use it in the first position with a 335; then in the 2nd position with a nylon string with a piezo.

Yes, they are both aimed at the acoustic, but I can get a terrific sound from my strat in that amp. My strat has a stereo output jack that sends a piezo bridge separate from the magnetic pickups, so I use both channels, and EQ accordingly.
