Here’s a sampling of what went down in and out of the Staples Center that viewers didn’t experience at home:

1. Artists were encouraged to get political
Before the ceremony officially kicked off, longtime Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich took the stage for a bit of housekeeping. He asked celebs in attendance to keep their acceptance speeches short and to keep the program moving, but he also encouraged them to skip the usual thanking of agents and lawyers and managers and instead make a statement: “Say something important tonight. We’re expecting it.”

Glad I watched a movie, and according to the news this morning, most people turned it off after the first few mintues.

Jeez, Ehrlich's comments just about amount to an admission the show's no good. Gotta resort to working politics into it in some grasping hope at making the ratings. Sad.

We watched the movie "Sully" the true store of Captain "Sully" Sullenberger who saved 150 souls by landing his US Air flight into the Hudson River. Now that's a hero!

We've graduated.

We're like the mother(England) country's parliament.

Doesn't matter what's best for the country. Who can make the most noise that counts.

those that make the most noise don't necessarily speak for the majority. The silent majority in this case.

The Grammy were on last night?

I must confess, I have never watched a Grammy show.

They gave you illusion to choose between Donald and Mickey Mouse and people say that Grammy's was disappointing.😜😜

OK I lied, I did watch some of it. "Walking Dead" has a lot of commercials and I'm a channel changer. Adele's opening was great as was the Tribute to Prince. Even if the guitar solo was faked whoever was playing did a good job. Lady Ga Ga was just silly jumping around and the dead mic thing made me feel sorry for Metallica. The rest I caught pieces of was just OK and I agree the host was terrible, just trying too hard to be funny. Adele just went overboard fawning over Beyonce, take your Grammy , acknowledge that she is also a great performer and move on.
Funny thing is Carlos Santana said Adele deserved to win because she is a singer and Beyonce is not.

Since we listen to a lot of country music - although right now I am listening to some great Jazz on a station out of Newport RI which I cannot always get - we enjoy watching the CMA's, etc. HOWEVER, I don't know why produceers have to try to make people like Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood be funny as hosts ... let them introduce the next act and be done with it ...
