When I work strictly as a vocalist, I find my mic cable gets really twisted during the gig ... is there any kind of cable or adapter end that would prevent this?

Also, I use an XLR to 1/4" transformer to plug my mic into the Pa900 ... Is there a mic cable with an 'in-line' transformer built in so that I don't have to have 5 or 6 inches of transformer sticking out of the KB?

Who's going to be the first to say it.....'wireless' .

I guess chas is ... yes, that would be the best solution, but at this stage of my 'career', spending $500 - $600 on a wireless mic doesn't seem like a wise investment ...

But I am STILL looking for an 'in-line' transformer ... don't they make these things???

Of course I could use a shorter version of this, and plug the male end of the transformer into the female end of this cable and then plug it into the KB, but then that's another connection to be concerned about ...

I also have a pa900 and i use a 90 degree adapter into the pa 900 and the transformer plugged into that. I seem to remember sam ash had a xlr to 1/4 in cable with a built in transformer a few years
ago. but i don't remember when i saw it. by the way i use the right angle 1/4" adapter so I don't damage the mic jack on the keyboard and it gives it some give if someone bumps into it.

I had Sweetwater make me a 5' cable with a transformer built in. They do it in house. Before that, I used 2 short cables and put the transformer in the middle, so it could lay on the floor, and not put stress on the jack. The mic side used a standard XLR-XLR wire, then the transformer had XLR-1/4"F, so I plugged a short guitar cable into it. Wireless is a great option, if you have a mic you love, but for a stationary performer, it seems like a waste of battery usage, and more bulk to connect. Get the custom wire. Easy-Peasy.

Or borrow a quality Peavey transformer cable from a friend.

Pardon my ignorance, but I never heard of a transformer cable. I have been using a simple XLR to 1/4 inch adaptor if my keyboard only has a 1/4 inch jack. Am I missing something?

There are cables with a built in transformer at the 1/4" end. Fran was teasing me about lending his Peavey cable to me before I had mine made!
