I just finished a week of covering for a school administrator. I'm off until next week...play three days...teach two.

Having one of my favorite adult beverages....Jim Beam honey.

What do you enjoy to unwind after a busy week?

Well, I have a few, depending on the occasion ... first I want to thank the French for my FAVORITE - Grey Goose Vodka, on ice, with blue cheese stuffed olives ... with breakfast - coffee, of course, lots of it ... lunch/sandwich - Pepsi ... dinner - depends on the entree - often red wine, but dark beer (Bass Ale) with bar-b-que ... and WATER all day ...
hmmm ... think I'll go catch a goose ... grin

Great topic. As a young, aspiring musician, anything alcohol would do and the more the merrier...until I realized only I was enjoying it.

Now, I'm living on the Back Nine. Most of my jobs are in the afternoon at assisted living and independent living facilities....Love 'em.
My evening gigs are usually dinner dances and banquets where alcohol is plentiful...but I'm not even tempted. On the job, water is my choice.
When I get home, I enjoy a nice, big Manhattan on the rocks with maraschino cherry and spoon full of maraschino juice.

When Gary was here he introduced Carol and I to Honey Bourbon. It is now Carol's adult beverage of choice.

Eddie

PS- Remember the days when we used to get a complimentary meal?

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one, Donny. I think the JB is far superior in smoothness and flavor.

Now, if I have my druthers, I'll take a Green Coconut Margaretta over all of the above.

Plain water is a big part of what I drink, I avoid soda but love Sweet Tea that's popular here in the south. The strongest stuff I drink is a bold blend of coffee. French or Italian Roast, usually black, no sugar. I enjoy espresso too! I've kicked back a cup or two of espresso with our friend TonyMads. coffee

Over 32 years ago I developed an alergy to any beverage with alcohol in it, if I were to drink any it would certainly kill me, maybe not today but in a very short time. I wasn't what you call a teetotaler, once upon a time I did enjoy Manhattans beer and wine, then the allergy kicked in.

I say cheers or salute to those of you who enjoy your alcoholic beverage of choice.

I gotta go with Gary the Jim Beam Honey is smoother. HOWEVER Jack Daniels Fire is much much better, than the original Fireball which has been the hottest liquor for the past few years

Donny, that review was done on Jack Daniels Devil's Cut - NOT Honey Bourbon - BIG DIFFERENCE! And, the guy doing the review is a kid compared to you and I, so what the Hell does he know? wink

All the best,

Or a new alcoholic beverage ... drink laugh2

It is crazy how our society keeps needing something NEW, no matter what the product ... vodka comes in just about every flavor imaginable, even standards like bourbon and high end Canadian whiskey come in flavors, ... OREO cookies are regular, double filled, thin filled, chocolate covered, vanilla, etc. etc. etc ... sheeeesh !!!
I need a drink ...
wink

Gotta love this forum!! smile

I worked in sales at a wholesale liquor distributor from 1978 to 1984. How I hated the Friday weekly sales meetings where we were shown another new brand to introduce during the next week while calling on our customers. The typical store/bar owner got tired of the sales people coming week after week with a new brand. I seem to recall out of 52 weeks per year at least during 45 of them we were introducing a new brand, most of the new items turned out to be flops. However, the people running the company were a lot smarter than I ever was and out of those new items, Absolut and Stolicnaya Vodkas did well and helped vodka become a major category that has grown dramatically during the last 25 years. We also introduced Midori Melon Liqueur, Bailey's Irish Cream and a few other brands that became huge sellers in New England. We just never knew what brands would click with the public.

Steve, I was hoping to get a job as a liquor tester, someone who rated the taste and quality of the newer boozes, but it never happened. wink

Bottom's up,

The real deal for long winternights, the best Schotland has to offer.

For warmer evenings, i prefer a good old pina collada, or any other tropical cocktail..
Or just some trappist beer from Belgium...

Good drinks are like good music and good food, something different fits with every other situation and mood

Gary although as sales people we weren't considered tasters we got to taste plenty. The trunk of my car was always loaded with samples. Distillers and wine makers were very generous with their tastings and samples. Part of my job was also to conduct liquor tasting nights in bars, I did have some fun with that job despite its pressures to meet sales quotas.

I was going to talk about my favorite Beer, but I didn't want to lower the bar.

Last week I had a little too much to drink. I walked out of the bar and I took a cab home. Now I don't know how to get rid of it. Anybody need a cab?

Jerry
