The harmoniser has never really been a feature I ever used as I sing and play for choirs and small groups anyway . There are very few shops near me that stock the korg pa4x and none that stock the pa3x . I did play the 4x once in a noisy shop . It sounded ok but the key feel was definitely more stiff and springy than my pa1x . Felt weird .

Really could not hear the quality of the sound . Other than the vh , what do you prefer in the 4x over the 3x ?

The vocal processing and harmonizer are outstanding!

Korg is on a 4 year release schedule with the PA1234x series.. the PA4x is not even 2 years on the market...

So if we follow the usual time lines.

Yamaha's T5 replacement should be happening this November/December, but it's not set in stone.

Korg still has another 2 years minimum with the PA4x

I should be getting some Ketron SD9s in a few weeks, and Ketron usually stretches their keyboards out for years and years

Roland is very unpredictable, and very hush hush, they can release a arranger anytime, they don't seem to follow any timelines or release dates.

As for selling,

my Tyros 5 sales have pretty much stopped, the people that want the T5 have already bought them, and either love them or moved on, but no new sales
The PSR-970 in the other hand is almost impossible for me or Yamaha to keep in stock

PA4X sell in waves, sometimes I sit on them for a few weeks, other times, can't get enough in. the 76 version is now my big seller
I don't sell much or any of the 600s and vert few 900s

Ketron is a specialized customer, certain genre, and situation, most Ketron users, will buy one, and if it fits their bill, holds on to it for a long time.

if you are thinking a PA4x, you are looking at a great keyboard, well laid out, great sound, tons of space for extras and your own creations, best vocalizer on a keyboard, great key-bed, usefull functions.
If you have any questions, about all of them and how they stack up against each other, call me or shoot me an email, I'm always willing to help, with no pressure to buy

Thats some nice info on the current market...

Just wondering how reliable is your Ketron info? They have moved the release of the Ketron SD9 backwards several times now....

Bachus, I cannot speak for Frank but I've known this man for 10 years have been to his store many times shared meals with him had many cups of coffee at his store. He is not the type of individual to post the statement he did without having some solid knowledge of a new product release.

Hi Spalding

Looking at the Korg dealer list there are a number within traveling distance to you, (Even if you use public transport) however call before traveling, to make sure they have one in stock, as due to their popularity, they go out as soon as they come in.

BTW. Avoid the Sound-bar, as like the speakers designed for the Tyros keyboards, it sucks, big time.
Also, unless you are definitely going to buy one, don’t take your cheque book, as if you do, there is a 99.9% probability that you will buy it, as soon as you try it. (It really is that good)

Hope this helps

Bill
