It all evolved from a group of KN7000 people in Florida who wanted seminars on on different aspects of the then new machine. Myself, Jim Helwig(RIP), and John C(Bruno) would prepare material and schedule a suitable place and time for each event. After each session, we would go to our respective keyboards and just jam.

This went on for several years until all the bases were covered and it became purely a social event. Such fun it was. I thought several times about going to Gary's bash, but the distance and timing nixed that idea. It would be fun if someone in Florida wanted to have one.

It would be great to finally meet you in person after over 15 years, as it would be many others, but I don't think there would be enough interest. I would love to be proven wrong. I would attend, for sure, but can't host it.

I would think Florida more then any other place except the UK would be more then a good place for arranger keyboard players to get together for a jam of some sort .....maybe yamaha or korg, ketron, etc, could be a host for it...I would gladly perform a few songs..if don mason & gary comes lol..

If my health allows, I'll be headed south on the sailboat on October 1st and spending the winter living aboard the boat in Marathon Key, Florida. I will be taking my gear with me, same as I did the last two times I went there. Not only does it provide me with an outlet for additional recreation, but it also provides me with a means of making some cruising/sailing bucks.

When I was there three years ago, I tried to put together a jam in Marathon Key, and I even got the city marina to provide the location to host it, and the city would have allowed us to use their brand new band shell, but no one seemed to have an interest in traveling to Paradise during the dead of winter and jam. Don Mason is a 2 to 3 day drive away, Donny was too busy, etc... I finally gave up on the idea.

So, if and when I make it down there, which would be early to mid November (sailboats are slow), I'll be sure to pose the question again. Hard to believe that the gang north of the Mason/Dixon Line would be making the trip, though. Just sayin"

Good luck,

Gary cool

I like the idea. It would be great meeting and playing with Synthzone members. I do believe there are enough keyboard players here in Florida to have a good size jam.

The Technics jams brought people from England, Texas, Jersey, and more. I do not expect the same because conditions have changed. I still have occasional contact with the friends we made from England. I’m sure Roger would come if we paid his way. (grin)

Is it worth giving it try? I think so.
