All i was told, one of the main Yamaha dealers in Holland was invited to London and saw something sensational...

All the rest is our own conclusions, i guess, assumptions...

Well the sounds and OS of Yamaha Arrangers are controlled by Martin Harris (An English Guy) with most other development work spread between Japan, Germany & the UK, so it is logical to assume (Taking into account that all dealers say there will be no more new stock of T5) that it is a new arranger. (When shown to dealers at this time of year, it is usually between September & November that it is launched)

So, not long to wait now

Bill

None of the above, Yamaha tends to present the new Tyros at its own event..

bachus are you interested in buying a new Tyros/Genos unit, ....I wouldn't think so with the great gear and software you already have to create some amazing music? but I can understand the curiosity too...

To me, the Tyros 5 is “sensational” as it is. For a new product to be sensational, how much better can it truly be? Can new features alone make an arranger sensational, or fantastic? Maybe what will take the breath away is the realism of the voices and styles.

No, i am not, unless it combines everyting Montage has with everything Tyros5 has and then some more, all in an 88 key form...

Which probably is not going to happen...

I have everything one needs... best synth, best arranger and best software sounds in the world... i am currently investing huge amounts of time in reason 9.5 (free 30 days trial) to see if it can replace or work in cooperation with mainstage... it has some of the best arpegiators and loop players in the world...

You never know when i get tired of somthing... but there currently is so much to enjoy and play with... the only reason why i would swap is if there is a truely all in one solution...which is something i have probably been saying for over a decade....

Bachus enjoy what you have now, it may be a long while if ever to get what you desire in an all in one ...and I'm sure this new Yamaha release whatever it is will be very far away from your wishlist.

Yeah, at what point does it become more about the MUSIC and less about the gadgetry? I know this is an 'Arranger forum' but shouldn't that include at least an equal focus on things like arranger playing techniques, style development, creative ways of using your arranger kb, etc. People want features that allow them to play the instrument like a keyboard but have it sound like a sax or a guitar. That's not going to happen unless you listen to what a guitarist or sax player actually plays (phrasing, chord voicing, etc.) and try to emulate THAT. Listen to live drum tracks and try to get a feel for when a break, half-break, fill, etc. is appropriate and trigger the drums in YOUR arrangement accordingly. We laud DonM for his authentic-sounding guitar licks; That's because he actually PLAYS guitar licks, not keyboard licks with a guitar voice. That's why HIS sounds better than YOURS smile.

I understand the excitement when a new piece of technology comes out. I've seen the lines when a new Iphone comes out. But guess what; if you sound like an idiot on an Iphone 6, you're going to sound like an idiot on an Iphone 7 (and 8 and 9 and 10). Sure, get 'jiggy' over the new technology, but let's not forget the MUSIC. JMO.

I really dont expect anything like that any time soon....

And currently i cant see any reason to replace the PA4x and Kronos "ever" because combined with the software, there is nothing the setup cant do... Yet there is so much i cant do with the setup yet...

In general i play for 2 hours a day, even longer in the weekends, and enjoy every minute of it... improving my playing skills, and as said, trying to make those guitars sound like guitars and the Sax like a real sax...

Editing styles to be what i want them to be, and editing sounds to be even perfecter... and yes, finally my skills are getting on the level i want them to be..

However, some things will never change...i will always be looking for possible improvements. Thats just something you cant change.

basically that's what I'm waiting for, ...not so much on the sounds and styles, but on the navigational features and on-board design improvements such as 73 keys, lighter less real estate overall unit,
a larger tilt-up touch display and a quality VH processor...
and some Montage technology, just to name a few things with a reasonable price tag,....
