I agree! I've tried several times to love the Neumann, but in the scenario of playing directly through a digital arranger I can't justify the extra cost. The only time the 105 sounded better was when I go direct to a mixer with good preamps. If I was doing more with conventional setups, I'd have a 105.
Well the Neumann is better for feedback control in my scenario with the BOSE & I also do have pretty good mic technique. I have a $2300 Allen & Heath QU24 mixer so yeah the preamps make a difference
It also doubles great in the studio....My last vocals came out great

I believe if you are going to compare mics, the SM58 is compared to the E835 spec and pattern wise, and the Beta58 is compared with the E935.
But all in all, whatever mic works with your stage situation and your voice, that's why there are so many mics because there are so many voices and situations
