but a few seconds before I said to myself since I have a MINT Yamaha S970 sitting here, ..." Do I need it,? is this what you really want again? since you already had a Pa4x?" "and You know right after you buy it Yamaha, Roland, or Korg for that matter will come out with their NEW arranger KB Models & you will be sick!!!"
So reluctantly I held back for now...
and in the back of my mind I was thinking to keep the S970 and get a Roland FA-07,
Donny, If you want vArranger I will sell you mine- complete With a Roland A-800 Pro 61 key controller. I do like Dan's software but seldom use it since I got my Ketron SD7

Spend some time checking out features you have passed over...learn what benefits your keyboard may have ...unknown to you..
Like most keyboard people , we never explore the full capabilities we have....(I am not in that group )
Also take advantage of what you already own... Mixcraft has a great selection of VST's... Learn how to use them within Mixcraft...You have VST's that will do anything the workstations do.. You also have VST with the pads you are interested in.. You have a couple of great samplers...
As you know, it looks like Yamaha will be coming out with a new arranger generation with Genos. Some of the Korgs are getting long in the tooth as well and should be due for a refresh but probably not the PA4x as yet. I would say you sold the Korg for a reason so...
Not to add fuel to your fire... but as for the Roland FA, I don't know what your goal would be with it, but if you want a great sounding unit that is easy to record with it looks unbeatable. Would be a nice compliment to an arranger.

Tracy all valid points......I also have some very good VST/DAW programs on my computer like MIXCRAFT 8 Pro MIXCRAFT 8 that as of now I haven't gotten into and probably have the tools within it to do some amazing music as Fran suggested to me recently...so Ill be looking into that for now and see what comes out to market soon...take care

Wow, this is the second time in my life that I have agreed with Fran. Donny, I'll bet if you took that user manual out of the zip-loc bag it came in you will find lots of really neat things.

I have the Pa4x and recently added the S970 both are great boards in their own right. Love them both, due to size of the 76 Pa4x the s970 will spend the winter in Florida with me. You would't be making a wrong decision if you did buy the Pa4x.
VST's in my opinion work best in combination with hardware... If you go Varranger, you might miss the physical layout and workflow..
However having a synth workstation, like the Fa series of Roland.. Or a performance instrument like the nord stage or the Hammond sk1 Next to your arranger of choice tgis gives you lots and lots of possibilities.. Not so much for on stage, as i dont see you gigging with 2 instruments and the extra weight But for having fun at home, such am instrument is incredible..
Or just add a laptop with a midi port to play with VST's on your arranger..
The roland FA series are nice, but a used Roland Jupiter 80 might blow you away...
