99% of the people who have one love it. And the reason the few who don't is volume. There is now a bigger model available so you can get that or the original with a small sub.
I'm thinking the same as you, nice small stereo unit for home.

CPS Spacestation XL . 700 watts and 12" main speaker. I believe it should be available soon. But the decision is that or the original smaller one with a small sub like the Behringer 1200.
For just studio use the original 8" model would probably be fine.
Some guys here have them.

I guess I'm the 1 percent who didn't like it. HAD to use a sub, had to prop it up, and build some sort of shield for it, and it still sounded awful on stage. Audience said it was o.k. though.

I use mine in my studio as well as most gigs. I usually have it sitting on my Logitech Z2200 sub, but it isn't necessary on band day with my Hammond SK1 as I don't need my pedals. Everyone loves the spacious swirling sound. In a large room, it won't sound as good to you as it does to everyone else unless you use any sort of panel on the right side deflected about 45 degrees and facing you. The side firing speaker has to have enough space to "bloom", or converge with the front speaker to get the stereo effect. Since Don is pretty savvy, I am not sure what was wrong, but I love it.

Thanx Bernie..
I value you and Don M's opinions even tough they are so opposite...I ran the KORG Pa4x thru both my LD Maui 28s and OMG!!! although not practical and much too big for the house.....my Senn headphones and Rokit monitors will suffice for now for Stereo sound when playing/recording. smirk

I'm with you Don. Got one from Sweetwater and played around with it as touted to do, behind walls, in other rooms, against a wall, angled, you name it......IMO, was dreadful. NO comparison vs stereo imaging.
