I would bet that the few who did not like it were doing something wrong. After all, we are all experienced musicians with varying abilities perhaps, but the same ears and appreciation for a good sound. Even when I first got mine and made mistakes( I thought), the audience thought it was great, as well as band members. Don't forget that you will not hear what the audience hears if it is not set up right. JMO.

More gear? How many speakers do you carry for stereo sound? This looks like less gear, not more. We are talking about a 1/8 x 24" x 18" pc of plywood, or, set horizontally on an amp stand, or, tilted up in a corner. How hard can that be ?

From the mile long thread on Keyboard Corner I think learning how to use it in different situations is the key. Also from reading that thread some guys put it sideways with the side speaker firing down, on a small amp stand so you don't need a baffle. Or on its side with a,wedge,to tilt it back on top of their small sub. Lots,to think about but it seems to be a big seller. Good Luck

Dnj, I would say in a controlled environment like home studio, a 2.1 setup might work better than the CPS. The idea of the CPS is creating a 3D stereo sound image on a stage in such a way that the performer can hear himself/herself without a monitor and just about everyone in the audience also hears the same stereo.
I heard both the bigger model and the new V3 at NAMM. Though Aspen told me that the new model sounds exactly the same as the old model, some say that the older V3 sounds better. I don’t know for sure as I have only the old V3.
To say the least, the CPS is a different animal. When I ran my Roland accordion directly through the CPS, it didn’t sound good. Actually it was bad as the left and right of the Roland accordion output bleed into each other. Only when I ran my accordion through a mixer, the CPS sounded very good. When vArranger played multiple instruments, the CPS really shined. All the instruments filled up a large acoustic space.
Torch thanx for your in depth hands on review, ....but after pondering all the emails, & opinions/revies etc, at this time between my studio monitors, headphones, and PA I am going to hold off and enjoy what I have for now....take care
