If Yamaha puts half of stuff that players want into the new Yamaha keyboards it will surely raise the price. Many home players (that's
what Yamaha aims for) will not buy a keyboard that has features that
home players will NEVER use. Solution?

Make a special edition for pro players with all the features that home
players will not use and both sides will be happy. bounce Lloyd

This will raise questions from Yamaha players and that's good. Lloyd

Lloyd and AJ, that will NEVER happen. Pro players make up less than 1/10th of 1-percent of the sales worldwide. As for the price being too high, I kinda doubt it, simply because Yamaha knows where its market is and knows how to stay in the game - they're been doing this for decades.

All the best,

Gary cool

I agree with Gary. The typical Tyros owner plays at home and uses maybe 25% of the keyboard's full capability. The price of the Genos will probably be similar to the Tyros. The average buyer is older and has money. Do look for the Genos to have a touch screen and if rumors can be believed, IPad connectivity.

All speculation at this point,...let's just wait and see,......that said, I have no intention of buying whatever it is..and will there be a Genos jr. also motl unit?
I've lost all excitement for Yamaha at this time ...

I assume Yamaha will keep the PSR-S line and the Genos features will trickle down to that model in 18 months to 2 years. Unless they launch a new PSR line to match the Genos. But all speculation as you say. Should know by this time next month if you can believe the rumors.

Yamaha can do whatever it wants to do, for sure. I’ve got two of their top-end arrangers and enjoy them very much. However, I’m gigging constantly with Band In A Box, which suits me just fine. Yamaha can take all the time it needs. Surely, they realize there’s some good competitors out there.

How does band in a box compare to using Yamaha styles?

I disagree, what people want is mostly software and most of it has allready been developed for other keyboards... you need to calculate the price for hardware features and software feutures totally different...

Yamaha will cater to the home organ player until this generation is gone,
.......it's their cash cow and has been for years.
